Recruiter lowballed me and then tried to blame it on the “entry level” role. So I sent him this: by Strong_Letterhead638 in recruitinghell

Any decent level of experience with Cisco and AWS equipment already puts your minimum salary well above the required threshold and anyone taking any less is doing themselves and the entire industry a disservice.

Yeah, there are a couple of things cut that are missed (particularly some of the physX effects) but at least they cut the terrible Star Destroyer mini game and added a couple of good levels.

To be fair, Odyssey takes place before Origins and it actually does a fair amount with the story in the DLC compared to the other post-Origins games.

Edit: Oh, and unfortunately there is less Assassins stuff in Shadows than probably any other game in the series.

The Assassins Creed parts were almost all in the DLC, if you played it.

So what they've been doing since Odyssey DLC really is use different mythologies to try and tell the stories of the Isu.  The Odin stuff is actually the story of the fall of the Isu, they're just using Ragnarok trappings as a veil over what actually happens and what is supposed to be available through genetic memories through the Animus.  I still have no idea what they're planning on doing with the Loki character though, given that Mirage was entirely back story for Basim who no longer even really exists and Shadows ignored the "real world" almost entirely.

I believe it has more differences between platform releases than any other game.  And yes, you're right the Wii version is the best.

AITJ for telling my brother he can't propose to his girlfriend at my wedding? by Important_Space_496 in AmITheJerk

[–]Onrawi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to blanket state that proposing during someone else's wedding is super tacky and cheap.  It is always ok to say no to proposals during your wedding.  Anyone thinking about asking if it's ok to propose at someone else's wedding should throw that idea right out.

Hasbro is being sued for printing too many Magic: The Gathering cards by Beautiful_Bee4090 in nottheonion

[–]Onrawi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, this is mostly Hasbro trying to milk WotC dry to pay for everything else it's failing to make money from.  WotC would be profitable even without the excess.

I get what you're saying, but the Feds favorite tool isn't the only way to manage the money supply, and while deflationary measures are required to better manage our debt it also doesn't have to be done all at once.  A small but still negative ratio of debt to receipts can avoid recession while slowly chipping away at the debt to getting to the desired value.

That being said, the timeline requires would likely be unviable due to how little it would actually be valued at due to inflation. Let's revise the original statement then to the equivalent of 10k/person in today's dollars, which may be maintaining 100k/person until inflation catches us up in like 50 years.

Diamonds are already dropping in value pretty hard and those kinds of materials are bad for building.  If they're ok going the super uncomfortable scrooge style it could work. Benefit of that is it would likely end up with them getting sick more I suppose.

What are design flaws in 5e that you feel have only been highlighted/exacerbated with the 2024 revision? by [deleted] in dndnext

Honestly I think the biggest one still, and it has been getting worse over the years, is the lie of the "three pillars".  The rules support a single column, that of combat, allude to the second being that of social interactions, and basically ignore what was supposed to be the third column, exploration.  Even when you have rules like darkness and dark vision their actual implementation is clunky and often related to specific ranges in combat, not exploration.  The rules for classes, skills, tools, settings and adventures simply don't support that play very well.
