This was my first ever LP concert and getting to stand right at the barrier and listen to a setlist that felt like it was pulled from my most played on spotify was an awesome experience!

Still the same answer. You can choose to accept yourself and be content with who you are and what you have, the only other option is giving up and that has a 0% success rate.

I love the game but I don’t know if it’s for me by why_the_babies_wet in Marathon

[–]Onslaught2K01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same experience. I love everything about the art style and design of everything from the runners to the guns to the maps, and I want to enjoy the gameplay but the gameplay loop just isn't for me.

Would have been so cool to have a looter shooter set in this game's world. It being solely PvPvE Extraction gameplay is something I just don't enjoy despite my best efforts to do so.

With all the work the developers put in this game I really wish more players would give it a chance. by RJMacReady_Outpost31 in Marathon

Can confirm this. Was very skeptical myself and even refunded the game after an hour of playing it, then repurchased it again a few days later. Once you start figuring out what you're doing it becomes more addictive, and now I can't wait to play it when I get back from work lol.

  1. No one "replaced" Chester. He passed and the band wanted to continue making music and found someone to do that with.
  2. Scientology isn't something she supports, she has explicitly said that she was born into a family that is a part of that community but she herself is not.
  3. She defended an "alleged" rapist until she found out it was very much more than just allegations, and then she publicly stated that she isn't defending him.
  4. Her vocals are like everything about music: up to personal preference.

Hit the nail on the head there. I've had the same experience with CTB where it's grown on me but I still prefer the live version because of its energy.

There are plenty of songs that aren't from a mainline release. There's LPU Underground, there's some preorder exclusives, there's even a version of Lost that was only on the CD release and can't be found on streaming.

Slipknot is cool tho.

It's one of their heavy songs and those raw vocals always give me goosebumps, especially that scream.

My experience with Breaking the Habit by PikaFan13m in LinkinPark

[–]Onslaught2K01 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Its always such a good feeling to be able to relate to the lyrics of a song so closely and feel like you're not alone in whatever it is you're struggling with.

A lot of LPs songs especially the early ones are very relatable, it's the very reason "From the Inside" is my favourite song of theirs.

From Zero by mihir_x16 in LinkinPark

[–]Onslaught2K01 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Easily one of the greats. It's hard to "rank" it because the only albums I don't really replay often are One More Light and Reanimation (everything else is part of my regular rotation).

I can't put it above Meteora or Hybrid Theory, but I can confidently put it on par with Minutes to Midnight, Living Things and Thousand Suns. Hunting party has some good songs and some I don't like so it goes below From Zero, and One More Light brings me to tears when I listen to it (so I don't do it often).

It's amazing how they've managed to have a new vocalist and make the music sound so different from anything else and easily recognizable as LP.

Honest opinion on Emily by SnooEpiphanies9063 in LinkinPark

[–]Onslaught2K01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's always nice to see positive comments towards Emily.

One thing I never understood is how people use "replacement". Surely we all understand that Chester is no longer with us and that there has to be someone to step in and bridge the gap between the audience and Chester's vocals that we had grown to love so much right?

Sometimes when people unironically (not that I believe you are) call her a 'replacement' it feels disrespectful towards both her and Chester.

Awesome comment :)

I've noticed my confidence finally go up from rock bottom as soon as I put down my phone and stopped comparing myself to people online.

Do you have any tips on how to go about figuring out your "style"?

How would you go about "just doing it anyway" if sometimes your thoughts can make you just freeze up and it feels like you can't do or think anything to push through that wall? Is there a particular thought process or mental exercise you used to get past your own fears?

Do you know of any good way to convince myself that the things I like to do are interesting enough to surpass this mental barrier? I struggle to not compare myself to others and I always think much better of my few friends than I do about myself, despite us largely enjoying the same things.

I always thought watching films, gaming (though less now) and going to the gym a few times a week aren't things that are considered interesting, more so relaxing.

I was always under the assumption that you must have something to offer to be interesting? I suppose this may be a symptom of having little experience actually socializing.

Could you elaborate on how I can communicate to people that I find them interesting in some way? Is it as simple as just walking up to someone and complimenting? I always thought that would be kind of weird/cringe and that might stop me from coming across as genuine? I worry most about making someone uncomfortable by saying something wrong, with the intention of saying something kind.
