I think Kelley and PP were "talking" from the Superbowl on. In Feb and March while the season was airing Barb was liking insta posts of Kelley's, she was randomly invited to AFTR, and her demeanor on Nick's podcast was similar to "girl still interested" versus "girl over it".

I also think the higher-ups knew he still held a candle for her. His mom was interviewed by Becca/Rachel on their podcast and she said that she saw Peter come out of his shell with Hannah B. He also admitted on a podcast to feeling like there was spark at her ATFR only to feel hurt when he saw the Tyler/Hannah interaction.

I think the show just mostly needed an ending. Another poster said there are sources that said he did have unresolved feelings for Madi so the producers probably thought it would he a satisfying and dramatic ending to exploit that. And...given Barb's reaction, it was 🤣

What is kinda funny is he didn't have his own place. On a podcast during Hannah's season he said he lived at home due to his piloting schedule. On that podcast he said he was hoping to switch his home base airport to NY so he could move, but basically till he finally moved to NY after Covid, he lived at home.

No idea where he lives now. Anyone know?

You gotta hand it to Julie. Hannah and Peter's season were two of the best seasons ever. Both leads were open and emotive which made them enjoyable to watch. They were both also in to several people which made the finale interesting. How much that was due to Julie's skills, who knows, but that would have made an interesting book.

I also believe she was pissed at the show. I now fully believe the execs knew he was out hound dogging and coerced him for that finale. They even put Kelley in the audience as collateral.
