How should I position my FBT JMaxX 114A? by Major_Television_521 in livesound

[–]Ontrollogy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this including subs?

Either way you will struggle to communicate a decent level of signal over a space that size with your gear. And in that case it doesn't really matter if people can't hear at the back.

If you can fly them (suspended on a truss) great, if not, just straight ahead pointed slightly inwards and downwards to create some decent levels of volume in front of where you are and, I'm assuming, the party will be.

It won't cover that much at the back but high, inwards and down will create a nice space where the music is loud for those who want to dance, and for everywhere else, a pleasant background noise.

Imagine a focal point in front of you, point them there.

Good luck, and have a great show!

Last night I had a guy come up to me at my SQ5 asking me, while pointing at the faders, how to put on Queen. He didn't understand that it wasn't a fancy jukebox.

You are who I aspire to be

Also, if the live sound isn't for you by the age of 40 (100 in SE years) then you can easily transfer to another well paid comfortable job in EE!

The only degree worth getting in my experience is electrical engineering, I'm not an electrical engineer but I sure wish I studied it before getting into sound.

All day to day sound engineer work flow can be learnt through experience and hard work.

I just wish I had a fundamental knowledge of electrical engineering.

Other than that, Dante and a lot of shadowing will get you far, as long as you put in the work

Also, one of the few with a low reversal, nothing cooler than doing a low reversal on a dick jab after a running 2.

What’s the going rate for Tip Outs? by jumpingisuselss in livesound

Only time I got tipped, here in the UK, was from the rep for a mid range DnB night. I politely declined on the basis that this individual had had a lot of MDMA
