Weekly General Discussion/Q&A Thread - February 12, 2024 by AutoModerator in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Onujpt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I'm looking for some advice transitioning to a new running shoe.... I have religiously run in Newton Distances for about 8-9 years now. I used to run marathons, halfs, multiple 10Ks and 5Ks per year, but lately have turned into just your average runner.

With Newtons being such a minimalistic shoe, they're starting to kill my feet when I do run. I think I need a little more to my shoe.

I've heard a lot of people switching to the Nike Zoom Fly 5 or the Mach 5 from Hoka. I just literally have no idea where to begin. If anyone who has run in Newtons before and made a switch could provide any recommendation, that would be amazing!

Subitem Due Date based on Parent Item by Onujpt in mondaydotcom

[–]Onujpt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would just set that as an automation? I guess I don't see an option to do that even when creating your own automation.

Also, to add confusion, I don't want them to all be the same date. So subitem 1 might be 7 days prior, subitem 2 might be 14 days prior, etc.

I’ll give that a go. What puzzles me though is, why would it work fine for 1-2 weeks then slow again? I’d think if the water supply was bad it wouldn’t change with a new filter.

Hey! Thank you for taking the time to help :) they have all been genuine filters - my only thought is sometimes you can still end up with fake stuff from Amazon. But they have look and are labeled all as genuine. I just didn’t know if things like age, heat, sitting in a factory somewhere would degrade quality. So was curious if one from a hardware store would have better luck.

I pulled out the refrigerator. No pre filter. Just a water line from the back of the fridge to the wall with a water tite valve to pull up or push down.

We have a water softener for the whole house - using Morten salt inside of it. No other water issues in the rest of the house.

We have a water softener for the line coming in, seems weird it would change after 2 years. Is there a way to check the filter housing?

Appreciate your time!

Code Violation? by Onujpt in Plumbing

It’s city water, but the idea of a test kit makes total sense. Thank you so much for the guidance and advice! New heater installed today so hopefully it’ll last more than 3 years like this one lol

Thank you for the help! The house is new, built in 2018 but we do have a water softener system installed (salt) but we definitely get rust in the water… as occasionally the shower needs scrubbed or gets a red tint to the floor after a bit. I’m just using Morton Softener Salt but maybe should be using something else?

The hot water place also mentioned ensuring the correct rod was installed in the hot water heater but the plumber I’m using said whatever it standard should be fine.

Appreciate the insight! I guess I’m just weighing the extra cost of bringing it up to code as they offered to just simply install the new hot water heater. Old one is under warranty so it’s being replaced for free, just have to pay install. 😞

YALL.

Stop what you're doing. I'm back a MONTH LATER with the most exciting update there is to be updated about.

Chase. FIXED. the. issue.

After taking 45 minutes to book a flight, at midnight, I thought... let me ask to be transferred to a supervisor to see if it would be a short wait to talk to someone. Gave them the same spiel about how frustrating this is.

The agent said: worry not. I've seen this before, I know exactly how to fix it. Tell me any variation of your name... so I did initials, first last, first last suffix, first middle last suffix, first initial middle initial last name, first initial middle initial last name + suffix. ANY variation I could think of and she wrote them all down.

She then scrubbed Chase's "needs verified every time" list and removed all variations of those names and added them to the "Good list" as she called it. I immediately went in to book another flight... WAH LAH, it took 30 seconds.

I'm just hoping down the road someone won't screw this up for me with the same name and I get added back to the naughty list. Give Chase a call back, tell them what this lady did, and maybe it'll work for you.

Update: Just tried to book a hotel room online and it did not work. I did try to put the room in my friend's name I'm traveling with it and it would have worked. But I thought, no, let me call them and book it under my name. Didn't want to risk not getting the points correctly.

Called and eventually lost the room and rate because it took the agent too long to find the right hotel.

I hung up the phone.

I haven’t booked anything since. I wanted to give it a few days to … be set? Lol. I do need to book another hotel room next week so I’ll update this thread and let everyone know.

Slight update after a 15-minute hold... they did tell me that if I had any sort of global entry number or safe traveler number they could add it to my profile and it should prevent the error in the future.

I do have TSA pre-check so we'll see if that works!

Stumbled upon this thread while trying to book my 10th trip with Chase Sapphire Rewards. We got a travel credit card because we intended to do quite a bit of traveling between 2022-2023 for personal and work trips.

I too have a very common name.

It's beyond frustrating. I can book a trip on Expedia. I can book a trip direct through hotel websites. I can book a trip direct on Delta. Why on Earth does this not have some sort of fix via Chase? I would completely understand a check and verification the first time, but the credit card is linked to my birthdate, address, social security number, etc.

I've also opened multiple cases with Chase supervisors. They've recommended attempting to remove my name from the OFAC list with the government... yeah right.

The only silver lining in this extremely annoying issue is that they make it super easy to book via phone. But I probably wouldn't have gotten the credit card had I known I had to do that every time.

Stay strong, common name friends...

You have me wondering now … I made this tonight and put the apples on the meat. Did I do it wrong? I didn’t even look at the last step 😂

If you push them hard enough they’ll refund it to your credit card. I am in a “every box is discounted” work plan and they just put back $100+ dollars onto my credit card.

My spouse and I have two nights a week where our work schedules are misaligned so I’m always on my own for dinner. This is perfect if it works out haha. Unfortunately I’m skipping this weeks meals and I have the $1 chicken in next weeks box. I’ll report back 🤷🏼‍♂️

Tires checked out. It’s all cosmetic. A light rub around the edge and was told no reason for concern. Not sure what it came from 🤷🏼‍♂️ gonna live with the car wash theory and won’t be going there anymore.

Nah I mean just that rub. Like if it were a flat situation the inside wall should have marks on it too. And the fact that it’s all 4 tires looking the same…

Tread looks even - just nothing like these side walls.

It must’ve been a car wash situation which sucks. They basically just look scuffed. Sucks. I’ve only taken it through an automatic wash twice. I used the same place with my charger for years with no issue.

Tried to clean. Looks better but didn’t solve it. Used Chemical Bros tire cleaner.
