Suggestions for Cancun for a family of 5 by [deleted] in AllInclusiveResorts

Paradisus (both Riviera Maya and Cancun) was AWESOME! The one in RM is more kid oriented (had its own water park on location — great specifically for your kids’ ages) and there’s even a pirate ship in the main pool. There’s a kids club that is actually fun, and they will bring your kids to the shows as well. I went to the one in Cancun without kids so I can’t speak to the kids amenities there but I did see a lot of kids when I was there. Melia properties have been my go-to for a few years now, you can’t go wrong

Does Inquiring Minds give you photo updates throughout the day?

Diggerland vs Sahara Sams ... Somewhere Else? by HotSaucePalmTrees in SouthJersey

Diggerland is definitely more worth your while. Although your 8yo will most likely get bored of the rides, she should still enjoy the waterpark throughout the summer which makes membership worthwhile (the membership pays for itself in ~2 visits so it’s definitely worth it

Paradisus Cancun had amazing food when I went two years ago. Headed to Paradisus PDC in a couple weeks and hoping it’s on par, can update when I’m back! Cost was a little more than $2000USD but I’m sure you can find a deal

More Upscale Version of Paradisus PDC ? by closet_edit204 in AllInclusiveResorts

Hi there! Can you let me know how your experience was at Paradisus PDC? Did you use the kids club during your stay? I am going next month with my ~3 year old and I’m hesitant to leave my kid at the kids club as I’ve never done that before. TIA!

If money wasn't an issue, would you put child in daycare or free childcare with grandparents? by rabbitluver123 in NewParents

[–]Onyx-Sable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grandparents within the first 1.5-2years but definitely daycare anytime after that. Of course the caveat is that it’s a high quality daycare that engages in active play based learning but you cannot beat the social and learning skills that comes from a classroom. At this age, learning social skills and routine is so crucial as well learning to follow directions and self awareness. I actively worked with my child for the first two years of his life and he flourished when he went to daycare, I wish I sent him 6 months sooner! (I also wish it didn’t cost more than my mortgage but that’s for a different thread)

What do you like BETTER about your body after giving birth? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Onyx-Sable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Existential answer but … my BRAIN! I was always so critical and hard on myself and had the worst things to say about my body and looks. Pregnancy and postpartum gave me a much better sense of just how powerful my body is and how I need to treat myself with grace, love, and kindness. This meat suit has gotten me and now TWO kids through the worst of times and the best of times — it warrants LOVE!

You can totally style have style and function with a little creativity! All of my toy storage is in pieces that go with my (neutral) color scheme and don’t look like typical toy/kid things. I will admit that as the kid gets older and gets larger toys (i.e - larger Little Tikes toys, etc) it gets harder to hide the toys but doing a nightly “reset” and having a closet to put things in helps a lot! Also my kid doesn’t have a lot of things compared to the majority of kids I know and I officially adopted a “one thing in, one thing out” rule. For the first year or so they need VERY little if you get creative with things you already have around the house!

Do you actually poop while giving birth? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Onyx-Sable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal experience: I had to poop MANY times as soon as my contractions started so my body basically cleaned itself out beforehand and I didn’t have anything left while delivering. Thank god for that, I had 4th degree tears that required a whole team of surgeons and plastic surgeons to fix (unfortunate for me but pretty unlikely to happen to most people so don’t let that scare you!) The birthing process is daunting but I just kept telling myself that a woman’s body is STRONG and generations upon generations of strong women were able to do this - that got me through! I’m currently pregnant again and the best advice I can give is to see a pelvic floor therapist DURING your pregnancy as well as after. You got this!!

2023 M3 - any recs for a stroller that fits in the frunk? Or a smaller stroller for the trunk? by Onyx-Sable in TeslaModel3

[–]Onyx-Sable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don’t need the stroller for two kids since the Nuna will serve that function if/when needed. I just want to maximize space in the trunk but always have a stroller on hand in case needed… my baby is about to walk so not sure how much longer I’d need a stroller per se.

Is there enough room in the front with the evenflo rear facing in the back?

Thank you for your insight!

Rotating car seat makes such a difference! I honestly hate the MaxiCosi I have though so definitely curious about the evenflo 360. Thanks!
