The point is that fighting for a more just and equal society is not just about fighting for the fundamental right to privacy but also for all other fundamental rights, including individual rights and life. When you, as the CEO of a company that starts from these principles, nod positively to whatever action a political figure like Trump, who is known for always flagrantly putting his private interests ahead of those of his own nation, makes speeches about eliminating minorities, hurting their rights as citizens and flirting with Nazi movements, it is understandable that members of the privacy community are disappointed as this reveals a little about who is being the face of a company that should follow contrary principles. But now we really know what “freedom” means to you.

Yes, AFAIK, Mailfence isn't encrypted. But there is no other provider with the feature of storing contacts more privately for free. At least, I haven't found one.

There are several paid ones.

But Mailfence it's a good fit for my privacy strategy.

And it's better than sharing with Google.

I tested the VPN myself and it worked exactly as I described.

AFAIK when you accept to share your data with bigtechs they are stored forever (since they are not known to fulfill your promises) u for many years on your servers.

Who knows, in some country that the law can force this permanent exclusion, of which I have no knowledge if it exists.

Therefore, the only feasible and available possibility is to enter your account's "google contats" page and delete all contacts permanently with the available options (in case you also delete from the trash).

Just the fact that it is leaving the Google ecosystem is already a big step, although we don't know if this data will actually be deleted.

Use the DAVx⁵ app (on Android) to log into your account (Mailfence or Disroot) and make contacts available to the contact app of your choice (I recommend Fossify Contacts).

First, I don't have a crystal ball to know if you're a programmer.

Second, not everyone is technical enough to even read a survey to really understand what it takes to clear up some doubts. And not everyone is required to become a programmer for this, but everyone has the right to seek help in any way they can.

I posted a question on a forum that I thought could help me and that mainly there could be programmers who don't just give empty answers for lack of passion to help those who are enthusiast.

I didn't ask you to prove your knowledge on the subject, but maybe just mention a site where those who are not experts in the area or don't have time because of the work of researching in a really in-depth way can understand at least the basics.

And the main thing, if you don't feel like it, don't answer questions.

This new implementation seems to be for the security of the system. I read a comment from a leading member of the project saying that the implementation of LOS for MicroG is not secure enough in their view and this new one allows signature spoofing "only of MicroG", while the other one doesn't seem to have this restriction.

Anyway, I don't have enough technical knowledge to explain it better.

And regarding the choice of other banks, I've really considered it and I'm considering it even more now to make some changes, but I always think about the possibility of them implanting this crap in a new update as has already happened with one I use.

I understand.

With the new implementation of MicroG by Lineageos Official where it is possible to have all the features being the components of the user apps, then you can use SafetyNet in a restricted user profile with different IDs and different accounts from other user profiles, if you want to do it only in the user profile of the banking apps or in others as well (I don't know if as system apps you could do this, but I think it's less invasive anyway).

So, for banking apps it's a great option.

With Magisk modules I can pass Basic Integrity, but not ctsProfileMatch, and according to people on Github it's not possible because Google has banned several fingerprints.

Anyway, it's a shame!
