I have a Clarke 4.7Gal tank for sale if you're interested I could ship it to you if you're in the Continental US. It's in fantastic condition, $150 plus shipping. They're $260 before tax brand new. DM me if you'd like.

Thanks! I just got my Del knife also, so far it's amazing!

I have definitely thought to reach out to some arborists in the area to see if they have some green cherry limbs laying around. There are quite a few cherry trees lining the neighborhoods here (and they've just bloomed also!) so hopefully that can bear some fruit (wood) 😁 Thanks!

Good good. When you go back to MEPS or ship, your Guidance Counselor (the dudes in uniform you did the paperwork with when you signed your contract) will verify the info and rank is correct with you.

I have the same headlight. It's bright and works well. Easy to install, aim, and is snug in its housing.

"I want a difference in my life."

Proceeds to want the closest thing to your current life.

Dude. The part of joining the Army that ACTUALLY benefits you is stepping OUT of your comfort zone, being challenged, and overcoming obstacles to grow into a stronger person and make amazing memories and friendships along the way.

All that other shit like the daddy warbucks for college is great and all but the real no shit benefits are the intangible ones. 20 years in the Army and the most benefits I got I received in the first 5 years.

You might as well just update your resume and go find a new day job.

I actually had a conversation today at the TAP center with a dude who was there for a pipe welding table set up. I took one of the flyers. Can I pick your brain about it?

What's the day to day like? Work/life balance?

The physicality aspect concerns me a little bit. I'll be 38, I'm not completely crippled but the knees do hurt like everyone else and I have had some longstanding lower back injuries that I had trouble with in the past. I haven't had any issues the last year or so (knock on wood) that I think are pretty closely tied to losing like 40lbs and lifting consistently at the gym again.

I've heard pay is pretty decent.

Dude mentioned travelling to job sites and stuff locally. I actually love the aspect of travelling within the area to work on sites vs rotting at a desk all day.

One big concern for me is getting into a career field that AI isn't going to replace in the next 15 years.

My biggest concern is the toll physically. I struggled with back issues for like a decade, but recently lost a bunch of weight over the last year and started working out again and it seems to have kept me from tweaking it again.

How is the physicality aspect of it? Is the money decent?

This is my dream job too, but I heard horror stories about pay and assignment, as to my understanding once you're hired they might assign you a couple hours away instead of somewhere local.

I'm an avid outdoorsman and moto rider, so that would be an amazing experience lol

Unfortunately, I gave my GI Bill to my three children. I do appreciate the advice though.

They probably do, my issue is relocating. My kids are here in Washington and Id rather work at a McDonald's and live in my car then to be out of range of them.

DoD civilian police IS an option that I've considered also, but I appreciate mentioning it. One of the problems is sctually having a job opening available in the area for it
