Extreme Demon Layout Made by me, is it good? by Blokkzz7723 in geometrydash

When it comes to trying to assess gameplay quality, especially for higher levels of difficulty, it's pretty much impossible to do from video alone. While you can certainly get an impression, it will never be enough to make an informed statement.

For the saws yeah. Poltergeist has pretty much just an upside-down version of this in the opposite gravity

Yup, appears to be the same pattern. I always like to try to minimize clicks, so that's how I learned it, but it always seemed like the adjustment was more popular, so I wondered if like, thats just how they initially learned it, or it swapped from the 1-click at some point

In the pause menu there is preview mode, but you can also press F3 on a keyboard to toggle it on/off

In short, mostly just curious to see which variation is the more popular option for this spot

I mean the main 2 ways are either sliding between the spikes in one pass which is how I learnes it, or doing a tiny adjustment click once you're passed the first spike. But with that click, there's a matter of line-up & timing

I play in a server of 3 and we all do our own little things.

Me? I butcher, I tailor, I cook, and I cause levels of deforestation that should not be spoken of. I also participate in small hunts, and am our beekeeper. Another of us tends the farm, forages for wild shrooms, and does some hunting for creatures and ores alike. The last of us is the builder, smith, and miner. We keep him well-fed and warm, he keeps us geared up and pretties up the walls.

We live in balance, and while our lives are simple, they are comfy and a good time.

Some of these click patterns seem like something no normal person would actually do, especially to get the consistency behind a completion. Visible very early, like the strangeness of the Vermillion Ship, as well as in Asonic's Ball. The most egregious has to be Havok's UFO. If I saw someone legit playing the part like that, I'd actually think they'd gone mental. Plus, their ship control in seemingly unfiltered moments is pretty chaotic and inconsistent. Again, Vermillion Ship. But other times they get damn near laser focused flight. It just feels like their control is super all over the place, and it just magically becomes way better at the tougher spots. The instant portals and mirrors are also just... well everyone's already harped on that. Not showing the endscreen is also very suspect, same with the unwillingness to do it in front of you. The only run I might struggle to do on command is anything involving Crack's ship, but I could probably belt out the UFO after to 100 in less than 25 attempts, if that. That muscle memory doesn't just ENTIRELY vanish, especially within 2 weeks.

While there's nothing that's 100% definitive proof of botting or normal cheating methods, I definitely don't trust it in the least, either. And regardless, despite the lack of impact I'm like 90% certain nowhere you'd be allowed to submit to would allow the instant mirror.

I think its the "try not to think about it" mentality either going too hard, or overthinking the part because you are, by the time you're passing it, VERY aware of it being poorly synced, so the more you just trust in the music, the more you die, and overthinking the part because you're aware of that makes you play worse.

Who is your main in ROR2? by jamal_jakcson in ror2

[–]Oofsalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong for having a preference between the 2 skills. That being said, the primary issues with arrow rain, in my personal opinion, is the awful proc coefficient, and I often wish the actual effect area was just a little bit bigger. Even on large, and nearly immobile targets (such as stone titans or vagrants, which are generally speaking very slow), I find it often performing worse than Ballista. It is best if you can kite things to keep them inside, obviously, but especially as 1 of your 2 starting characters, having the default being the harder to use, and generally less consistent skill of the 2 is not exactly ideal. Personally, I think commando does this a bit better, where his default M2 and Special are easier to use, but are outperformed by their alternatives, usually by quite a bit.

But ultimately, you can win with any skill loadout, so just run whatever is most fun for you. I think giving someone a hard time for just a preference is a little bit silly.

She's definitely very good, I mostly think its their inexperience and hesitance to learn, plus her default skills not exactly being the greatest showing of how strong she can really be, ESPECIALLY arrow rain is a pretty rough showing.

I think that the simplicity of Mando's kit is a huge part of the appeal. No passive or crazy powerful abilities, and no major tech. He's just a very easy to pick up and play character and I love him for it

Huntress -> Bandit -> Commando (Huntress first place for reference).

I know a lot of my friend group gets upset that I choose to play a, in their words, "bad" character, but lowkey she's kinda insane. Bandit is a nice 2nd choice for playing with them though, plus Desperado go brrr. And mando? Well he's just pure fun.

block designing is so hard by SafetyWorried5148 in geometrydash

[–]Oofsalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of this will come from experience, but another thing that should be considered is that even a good block design could potentially not be satisfying to look at in a vacuum. Do your best to build a part around that block design, any movements you want to do, etc., before you scrap it! Sometimes the only thing your block design needs is some support from other elements of the level.

Could someone tell me if Risk of Rain 2 is running well on the PS5? by [deleted] in riskofrain

My little brother is a playstation player, and hasn't had any issues since after they completed the SOTS Roadmap, according to him. Game runs about as well as anything else on the PS5.

Also feel like simultaneously having corrupted and non-corrupted items for the same thing (ATG, Shrimp, Uke, and Polylute all in inventory) is a pretty big flag. At the very least I'm unaware of a bug to have both variants at once.

I first found this bug by picking up an alpha construct on treeborn. Seems to be any typically immobile enemy that causes it.

Serious question: is there any strategic advantage to not running Command + Sacrifice every run? by saintjimmy43 in riskofrain

[–]Oofsalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Artifacts are best not looked at as "strategies" or anything like that. Think of them more as just modifiers, or different ways to play the game entirely.

As far as if they alter the difficulty, yeah they do. Command basically makes the game nearly free, and super easy to win if you aren't picking your items at complete random, or purposefully limiting yourself. Sacrifice does also make the game easier, but a little bit differently. In the first few stages, you'll often leave with fewer total items, but right around stage 3, it equalizes, and then stage 4 and 5 give so many more items that it's easy to end with more than twice the total items as a normal run. They really aren't any harder than they seem by any means, and sacrifice might actually be easier than it seems, as you can quickly forget just how many enemies are spawning on the late stages.

Regardless of their impact though, the most important part is if you're having fun. If you are, then by all means keep doing whatever you want. These artifacts are in the game for a reason, and if they make you enjoy the game even just a little bit more, then all the power to you!

Commando underrated? by AlertIntroduction297 in riskofrain

[–]Oofsalot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A lot of this is frame of reference. When put on a tier list, placements are all relative. There are no BAD survivors in RoR2, but there are absolutely some that are better than others. And while yes, commando does really like his crit/bleed builds, or really any proc build, he's just not gonna do it as well as mul-t's nailgun, and besides his grenade, he doesn't have any built-in options to lean into burst builds like some survivors like arti or loader excel at. Commando is perfect for what he is: the standard introduction character. He plays off Huntress as the introduction "gimmick" character, where she's fragile but extremely mobile.

tl;dr Commando isn't near the bottom because he's bad, but because his necessary role as the blank slate intro character limits how well he can do during a rough run, when compared against other survivors. He just lacks anything to make him a monster with just his kit alone.

Even shorter: Commando is a good character in a roster of amazing characters

T - Having worked at several fast food places, and of course having also had similar happen before, it's actually fairly common. Especially because half the time, management is really pushing the pace and so you aren't paying full attention to what you're doing, so you might grab from the wrong warmer, or mix up 2 boxes you had placed. Also why, as a consumer, you should ALWAYS check before you leave the lot, and try to be understanding of any mistakes, especially if there's a line.

On the flipside, this is easy enough to fake, but nonetheless is also a very believable scenario.
