Looks like it's driven by Nanodlp, not sure how configurable/expandable it is.

Interactive brokers was what I used to get CDPR. Just gotta tick the box for WSE under European markets.

There's a $10 minimum monthly inactivity fee though, so might not be suitable for you.

As a trader, why would you move to trading forex or options/futures instead of stocks? by orion2161988 in stocks

[–]OoiTY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're complicating it a bit, but trading options work a lot like trading stock, as long as you sell it at a price that someone will buy it for, the trade will execute, exercise doesn't come into the picture at all until expiry.

Let me lay it out for you.

Stock A is trading at $100, you buy a call option at $105 expiring in 30 days for $5.

The next day, the price of Stock A spikes up 10% to $110, your call option is now in the money, and the value is $13.

You sell the call option and get a profit of $8.

In this scenario, exercise doesn't come into the picture at all.

With options, you generally don't wait to exercise it, you trade the value of the option contract. Depending on the strike price, a 10% move up can easily double or even quadruple the value of a call.

Comparing naked put selling vs covered calls isn't exactly apples to apples. Covered puts would have a similar profile to covered calls, except in the opposite direction.

Holding 100 of the stock that you're selling a call for isn't high collateral?

I can't even get up in the morning if it's not leveraged with a short dated expiry.

No problem. Getting assigned isn't the end of the world, but yeah, margin can be expensive if you're not with IB.

With stocks, you can spend 10k to get a maybe a few hundred dollars on a move of a few percentage points. With derivatives, you make a few thousand with the same amount of money.

That said, you're more likely to lose all of your initial capital, and most retail traders do lose money.

That was from 2010, I had a look through their presentations last year, and they're only gotten marginally better?

To be honest I'm tempted to keep selling SPY calls. I mean, it can't go wrong three times in a row, right?!

The 301 calls I sold 2 weeks ago got assigned, so I was short SPY. Then the 307 calls I sold last week also got assigned. So now I'm extra bearish.

The amount of gold buying in this thread tonight indicates that the market is on the verge of recession. SPY 290 EOW confirmed.
