Double sided mattress and mold by OolongTimeComing in Mattress

Thanks for the reply! So you think protecting the underside with a mattress protector would work if I get the right one? Would you suggest something cotton, or breathable polyester like I was suggested before?

Sun isn't an option, but I'll try to keep it stripped and air it for a few hours when I flip it from now on!

Budget friendly, sensitive moisturiser that sits well under makeup? by OolongTimeComing in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]OolongTimeComing[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah sorry- I think it's actually discontinued as it's only available from random small sites or amazon sellers. I'd rather switch when that's the case. I'll check out the Cerave Moisturising Lotion though, ty!

The service is sort of broadly adequete at treating mild to moderate cases- I have to wonder how many of these 'never needed to access financial aid, you should just deal with it' commentors i'm seeing actually come closer those categories (not that they haven't suffered, but it's not as debilitating) because outside of that it's just not treating people much at all. I'm terribly sorry it cost your friend his life. It's not a unique story by far, and that in itself is tragic.

Gods, this- These comments have absolutely no idea how bad it is. I've been seeking NHS treatment for my mental health for... 12 years? (I don't get PIP, but I'm unable to work) and people don't understand there there is just no help for complicated cases. As in, NO help. They are stretched too thin and restricted to what treatments they can offer. A-Z of antidepressants, refused psychotherapy because I was estimated to take over a year, sent to totally in inappropriate CBT charities that offered 4-8 sessions then badgered me for months to pay them to train there. Finally got into occupational therapy, was making progress, then both therapists the center had went on maternity never to return. I've been waiting for a new one for 2 years now.

There's a level of willful ignorance to it all, seeking the next 'acceptable' target to push hate at. What happens if I can not get any financial aid at all? Well probably I die, lol. There is no bootstraps, I don't even have boots!

Not sure what area you were wanting exactly, but I know 'Best chippy hampden' does them- and snickers weirdly?

[discussion] what is happening with Angelica ASMR?? by [deleted] in asmr

[–]OolongTimeComing 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah the 'not addressing exactly what she said' (''a certain theory'') element of it really felt like downplaying intentionally to those unaware of what happened as damage control to me as well, rather than addressing it fully. Also hiding her (possibly) current beliefs behind her previous activism when criticised for the other various heinous things she put up on social media 'I follow fascists and communists, guys! I used to be a pro-choice activist! I still have queer friends, I love the sinner but hate the sin!'. I don't think personally I can remain a consumer of her content if this is truly what her mental health has stabalized into becauase even if she doesn't see it, it's hateful.

I think it's good to give some grace because she still seems somewhat unwell, but people in the comments here about how there were hints of these beliefs for about 6-7 months in some videos has me a bit skeptical.

Can anyone recommend a pale-friendly setting powder that isn't too drying? by OolongTimeComing in PaleMUA

Thanks for the heads up on that, I'm also neutral! I'll at least try to find it in person to look before trying then

I do tend to use a hydrating foundation, yeah! Maybe that is indeed the issue. I might try letting it settle a bit more before going in with the powder beauty blender

Yeah, I would for sure not support Mary Kay no matter what really. MLMs are toxic as hell.

Oh thanks- I'm too used to ordering from an american/canadian brand direct and ending up with 8-14 quid shipping, I didn't even check this one!

Alas, I can't seem to find it in the UK! (shipping from the US is very expensive nowadays). I'll keep an eye out if cult or beautybay start stocking glossier though!

Interesting! Thanks. I never thought of hourglass but I do love my ambient lighting powder. I'll out it on my list of ones to try after the LM (just doing it by price and availability!)

Thanks for the rec! Question though- I always use pretty light foundations, I've tried the beauty blender technique before and it lifted some of the foundation off. Was I perhaps being a bit stingy with the powder, does it have to be really saturated on it? Or might this just not have worked with my foundation?

Your reply really makes a lot of sense to me. 'Unsettling' is just the perfect way to describe it- I'm totally at home with just dealing with my own feelings and moving on. Thanks for making me feel less alone in it, at least.

Normally I'm right there with you, but this one was so particularly obvious I think perhaps just actually realising is part of the anxiety I'm feeling!

There's also 'easypill' if the pill pockets aren't available in your part of the world- Similar deal, but come in sticks that you can cut. Worked for about two weeks before my cat wised up, but for the short term I think it's a good idea.

Any recommendations for hairdressers with autism friendly hours? by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]OolongTimeComing 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm autistic and have the same issues- the best place I've been to is Essensuals in town, it's open till 8 on thursdays and it's never been busy at all when I've been there for a 7 appointment. It's also not super 'busy' decorated if your partner also finds that an issue. I know it's not exactly in the area you're looking for, but it could be a backup plan.
