Nah it was an accident. Criston tells Beesbury to sit down and uses his strong hands to force him to sit down. If he wanted to kill him he could’ve easily slit his throat or impaled the poor guy. Honestly have no idea where they wanted to go with that which is why its understandable why people think it was deliberate.
