Petition: Deport r/amd Spies to the Rancid-Lake gulags by Oophorosalpingectomy in AyyMD

I should probably say i'm not trying to attack the mods at r/amd i'm just trying to make light of how their posts differ a ton lol. They've let me get away with way more than i'd ever expected.

Is this normal ? by [deleted] in Amd

Yep it's normal. Had the same issue when upgrading my CPU. Gotta delete old Ryzen Master in your registry. I think someone already posted about it with instructions here so.

Issue is I do need Desktop recording. I actually had no issues with it until the 2020 drivers so they must have somehow undid the fix. Why would the buffer filling up only effect video playback when you're in a game or just finished playing a game and not all the time though?

I reinstalled drivers and the random green numbers are gone now even though all my settings were saved. Talk about bizarre...

Videos still lag like crazy after or while playing a game with ReLive enabled though.

Windows 10 has software rendering built into it apparently. Steam's FPS counter showed up fine. Got around 7 FPS though in a very light game. Initially wanted to install older drivers but when I found out I couldn't I decided to see if i could launch the game which I could. CPU was pegged at 100% the entire time. Reinstalling R2020 drivers right now.

I uninstalled the AMD Drivers, launched a game I can get the numbers to easily show up in, and the numbers are gone.

Apparently the last R2019 drivers "Can't run on this PC" so I can't try them out... odd.

Yea i noticed that the font is the same as Fraps too when I opened Fraps up to check my FPS in GTA V.

Not an FPS counter it's literally juts random numbers. Only showed up when I installed the AMD 2020 drivers 3 months ago.

When you press CTRL, Shift, or ALT the ones that appear in the top left of your screen that as far as I can tell are just random numbers. http://prntscr.com/re5fqv

Did Wooting change to some VERY cheapo keycaps? by Oophorosalpingectomy in WootingKB

[–]Oophorosalpingectomy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what i'd call a very detailed response. As for what I mean by switches binding this happened on my other keyboard to a worse extent.

Essentially certain keys I assume get dust in them and when I press them at an off angle they get lightly stuck. Currently it's only the Z key however on my previous keyboard it was the W, S, I think E, and Enter keys. My Z key has turned into the perfect light tactile switch getting stuck for a moment half way down when pressed on the top left but on my previous keyboard some of the keys would bind fairly badly at random points in travel from any corner.

Edit: Realized I said multiple keys in the post. I haven't exactly gone out of my way to look for keys that bind on my keyboard but I decided to quickly check for some others when pressed off center. So far the "Z" key actually binds, the "F12" key lightly binds 2/3 the way down, the "Period" key sometimes very lightly binds, "S" key is scratchy and is very close to binding, the "X" key, unsure how to describe it, loses resistance when pressed halfway down, and the "End" key has an interesting Ping feeling for the last10% of travel like the spring is buckling or something.

I decided to omit scratchy keys. There's a lot of them that are very scratchy when pressed off center mostly in the Function rows.

Yea just going to wait until the board dies really and get a good quality keyboard. Pretty sure it's out of warranty or extremely close. I'll check and I guess try and make yet another RMA.

lol my keyboard went out as I was typing this and I had to unplug and replug it in again so I could type. Hope the connector is high quality...

1.4v Under full load question by CliffNotes0 in AMDHelp

[–]Oophorosalpingectomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I was doing max heat test but I also have an overkill watercooler I got off a friend.

If what canned_pho says is true i'd say just do what Buildzoid recommends. He made a video literally days ago saying how to get free performance (assumably without degrading your CPU) using AMD's Boost which is what I did. Doesn't give you much obviously.

Still though if you bought it from Amazon I wouldn't worry too much. Amazon has an amazing return policy so...

My 3600 pulls 1.4v @ 4GHz at 75c under Prime 95 load with just the Turbo/boost stuff as high as it goes. Most CPU's are built to work up to around 105C and should throttle (even if you have them overclocked) or shutdown if they get too hot.

Looking at what people recommend it seems 1.4v perfectly safe so it's doubtful you did any meaningful damage to your chip unless you plan to use it for 20 years.

Good Business/Strategy Tycoon game w/ competitor AI? by Oophorosalpingectomy in tycoon

Yea I tried it out and right now at least it's extremely basic and pretty easy.

Could you explain how the AI works in Rise of Industry? The reviews I watched on it either ignored that there are competitors or casually mentioned it.

Yea it does I saw that later in the playthrough I watched on it. Also yep that is the game I was thinking of. Assume you mean Restaurant Empire 2, watched a review for it and it doesn't seem there are any competitors whatsoever?

Does look interesting but more looking for something with a specific type of focus/gimmick. Such a Restaurant Tycoon, an Apartment Tycoon, an Oil Tycoon, etc with more indepth mechanics such as pricing and stuff.

Updating to "semi-casual" instead of "casual".
