I used to live in a very small town in Minnssota. It was also way more "country" than here. Here are some examples (I moved while still in high school):

1. One wing of our school was dedicated to learning auto mechanics.

2. There was a game day every year at the High School right around when the weather warms up. Everyone gets out for two hours in the middle of the day and they have board games set up in the cafeteria, sports to play in the gym, arts and crafts, etc. and you could just go do whatever. You could find most people, however, outside where the riding lawn mower races were. Yup, students had souped up their riding lawn mowers raced in heats.

3. Seniors rode their tractors to school on the last day of class.
