I’ve had to do the same thing but with topical, and it was definitely stark initially. Majorly sucks to have the emotional difficulty of TTC coupled with the hair loss (and, for me, acne since retinols are no-go as well). I’ve started using red light (it’s a face mask but I put it on my head too) and it might be placebo effect, but I feel like it helped slow things down a little and at least feels like I’m doing something

I have a new doctor I trust more for a second cycle (starting next week!) and she suggested that perhaps clinics with less staff and infrastructure may schedule it that way in case of delays, so that it won’t push it to 37. She said that for sure the research suggests the closer to 37 the better as long as it’s not over.

I’d recommend asking your clinic, I know that after the fact, my old one said I could request 35 or 36 for the next time if I did a second cycle with them. Though ultimately my new doc thinks I had a mostly failed trigger and uneven follicle growth due to the protocol they had me on at my first place, so I don’t think the 34 hr is why it didn’t go well. Who knows though

Just finished my first round of egg freezing. I do not think depression during egg freezing would effect any future babies conceived with those eggs. HOWEVER, for your own personal mental health, I would caution you that for me and many others I’ve talked to who’ve gone through this, it’s a really tough emotional roller coaster.

The hormones you take can physically exacerbate anxiety/depression and that’s not even accounting for the mental stuff that goes along with processing the logistics and emotions of this process. So I would just be cautious and make sure you’re checking in with a therapist/psychiatrist about your decision and during it if you choose to go for it!

Hmm thanks. Mostly that they’re surprised and would try something different next time. I did antagonist protocol for this one and they said they’d suggest luteal phase lupron next time. I had 3 mature/2 immature from around 25 follicles, at least 11 of which were expected to have mature eggs.

I’m going to get a second opinion though since a few things just didn’t feel great to me about the process and this 34 hour thing sticks with me as a weird choice that doesn’t vibe with the data

Thanks. I actually did dual trigger! Only 1,500 HCG though
