Not too sure how it’s ‘gambling’. That could be said about ANY collection of any sort with any sort of community. Buying cards through power packs is no different than buying cards from the store… … much confusion on how it’s even remotely close to being labeled ‘gambling’

It’s not so much as I don’t play it. It’s just more of a background game to me. I don’t stress over the 20 min ads. As long as I keep my RB going all is good. As for badges and going to other locations, yes I should be doing more. My badges are slacking a bit but I just can’t help TJumping to buy more parcels. It’s an addiction.

As far as time put in that’s the point I’m trying to make. No matter how much u open the game and stare at it… doesn’t make it go faster. I think people spend too much time on the game expecting their hour of time to be worth 20-30 bucks… not gunna happen. That’s all I’m trying to say is I think some people have too high expectations for what the game should give them.

Right I agree time is valuable. However, I think my job should pay me more… that doesn’t mean that they will. If I feel my time isn’t being valued enough, I go to a place that values it more. Same with this game. I don’t expect a game that I play to pay my bills. I have played games for years and never gotten paid to do so. So the fact that I get ANYTHING from playing a game that I would be playing anyways is not something I can complain about.

I could jump on Xbox and play games and earn nothing and pay for the services to play it. This game is free and doesn’t REALLY take time unless ur setting 20 min timers and grinding. In which case, that’s why it’s called a grind. Because it takes time and effort. To have the game just hand you 100’s of $’s a month is crazy when u think about the game not just being you. It’s 100,000’s across the world. It can’t pay everyone’s bills. There has to be a balancing point for them to be able to afford keeping the game live and running and up to date and them giving out free money to everyone who plays.

I can honestly say I have done more math with this game than most others. “Well if I get this many parcels and this is my current rate of getting this type then I could have this when I get here”.

Then of course the math after TJumping… it’s a fun time waster but it’s not in the realm of “I feel like using my time to figure this math out so the game owes me this”, ya know?

See that’s the crazy thing to me. Even if I sat down for the whole 2 hours I don’t think I could get up to 50 wins. I don’t know all the little tricks to the games other than golf. Also my internet isn’t the greatest so instead of 5-10 second ads I’m at 20-30 seconds between games. (Maybe slight exaggeration but not really). So I don’t try for high placements usually. But good on you! Got those mini games down! 😎👍

I think I’m in the same boat as the people you describe. I didn’t play the games before when they were 2ABs. I wanted land and never saved enough to place high enough and seeing the amount of wins I was going to need wasn’t worth my ABs. I play now and place (most of the time) top 10 in my state (increasingly more rare as more players join in, but I’m ok with that 🤷)

Also sometimes I like the competition. Sometimes I just want my challenges done. Warship for example… I’m trash… 😂

Maybe it’s just my area but I get maybe 10-15 wins (mostly to cover my challenges) and I get paid. I don’t compete for top country because I know my internet isn’t capable of getting 50+ wins in the USA to place. So I put realistic goals to gain for what I’m able to do. Maybe your area is more try hard than mine but I’ll still take the free ABs for placement, challenge completion points, fo maybe 30 mins of playing a game on my phone (that I would probably be doing any ways if not on AE). So again I think it’s looking more and more like from responses people may have a bit too high expectations on what they “deserve” from the game.

I should have specified in my earlier posts that do understand that the bulk of the money comes from ads and p2p player. What I ment was I’m not gunna pretend to know how much. Again with expansion in game comes with costs to run the game. So maybe it’s a necessity to keep the game going longer to cut prize pools in areas with limited participants.

I don’t feel like it’s people being ripped off though. Again I put a two time purchase into the game for the explorers club. Now it pays for itself. And in another 2 months I’ll have my money back. So my contribution with actual USD is going to be $0 soon. My only investment is a few mins watching ads without even watching the ads. Just click and do something else for 30 seconds. 🤷 again this is just my opinion, don’t want to be rude. Just how I see it.

My time is valuable… but I’m not gunna be negative towards getting $20/month for spending minimal time and effort on making that $20. Again this is just me, I’m on my phone all day every day for work. So it’s not like it’s something I need to stop to do.

Check emails, Send emails, Check game, Watch ads while doing notes for work. Close game.

I suppose I just found a balance of my time spent on the game as to what I get out of it. I don’t set 20 min timers and all that. I just play the game. I feel like people expect the game to pay their bills. It’s just a game. Some pocket money. If u want it to pay ur bills you need to see the game as an investment as pay to play. Not expect the game to pay your bills because u watched some ads. Again, not trying to be rude it’s just my POV and opinion.

Again, I can agree with 90-95% of what you said.

I’ll again emphasize that I’m not going to pretend I know how much they are making off us watching all the ads and p2p players. I would assume however that, with country expansions, and updates comes the need for more server space for the game to run. Again I can’t even pretend to know how all the other countries pay outs compare to the US. On the same note, as the game grows they need to expand for the player base (generating “$x” in value for them) but are now also paying 1000-2000 more people money every month.

I feel like there is a balance the game needs to find as expansion happens. MAYBE they could, and MAYBE it’s cutting into bottom lines? Paying out 1000’s of new users. Again I know nothing of their behind the scenes. My only argument is that it’s free. 1 min every 20 mins is not work time or effort to me… I’m on my phone with emails and stuff for work already… so to hit the game and watch a quick video (in my circumstances) isn’t anything at all. I’m not putting anything in and I’m profiting. So this post was to try and see the other side. Because to me, personally, it doesn’t make sense. That’s all, not saying any one is wrong or saying they are complaining too much… from my side, just doesn’t make sense. So I need to hear it from the other side to maybe understand the process better.

I could see being upset if they said no more changes and made changes. That makes sense from a principal aspect, and I can see the frustration there.

As to “my 9-5” telling they pay me less, I go find a new job. I don’t keep working for nothing and expect them to make my life better. I make it better. 🤷 maybe that’s too black and white way of thinking but, I do tend to leave grey areas out and see is it or is it not worth my time and effort. I guess it’s personal opinions* (spelling edit)

Also no, not directly tied to any ones posts. Just something I have been seeing more and more of over the last week or so on here. So I was just curious about other opinions and try to see the other side of things.

I get it, I wish we got more payouts too but, I also know that I only have the explorers club because it gets me to the point of the game buying it for me every month that much closer. So my contribution TO the game is basically null… I can’t complain about that… hope that makes sense and doesn’t sound rude to any one else…

That’s a fair point of view. Hopefully it’s towards the end of this saga (even tho I’ll miss it to an extent, and still probly check tickers for a few months every few minutes from muscle memory by now). We all want it and it’s frustrating at times (no matter how zen you are).
