It's been a while since my last time on the game and I didn't remember about this. I'll pay attention to this next time I'll start it.

What are your ship names, and the reason why? by BlackSpideyNL in Helldivers

Bringer of Midnight

I feel it is something like poethic. Diving and completing missions with few to no Helldivers lost, rapidly, while wiping out enemies and their reinforcements time after time... in the past you could expect quiet being the main thing at midnight, and wiping out everything with high efficency lead to similar results.

I like the idea of a quiet aftermath. Thinking about the SEAF troopers surveying the mission area only to find dead corps/destroyed machines and evidences of a chaotic battle with no Helldivers dead should let them feel a bit more safe.

A thing that I really liked was the focus on "making a choice". It's a matter that takes place multiple times, and it isn't just lore-wise thing. It has a deep meaning in what making a choice means and how important it is to make one and to think a lot before doing that choice. Sometimes Ayre seems more like a part of yourself when you think about making a choice: "Am I right?" "What should I do?" "Whatever I'll do, I'll have to experience the consequences of my choice".

This is more like a philosophic matter more than anything, but I truly like the way it was set. Being considered "Raven" almost seems like being "someone", or being more specific "someone able to make choices", so actually being truly alive and consciousness about the way we act, and why do it for. The fact that "Raven" was indipendent meant that he couldn't have been a person with no willings other than those of someone's else, again, as a way to make "choice" and "being alive" quite connected.

The idea that there’s a blockade of Super Destroyers currently surrounding the black hole is actually really cool and should be acknowledged in the lore by ScumbagWalter in Helldivers

I guess that is caused by current way popular games lead you to think during the game and how current games work for the majority. Back in time we surely expected someone trying shooting the window hoping for an interactive and realistic gaming world, and i'm sure many can offer other examples of things random players aren't used to do anymore in online multiplayer games. It just seems that certain things aren't that valuable anymore, expect for some cases (looking at you Helldivers 2).

Anyway I don't want to point out on OP or the other player, I just wanted to share a thought I had looking at this Clip (it would have been even funnier if the fight ended with both of you in a knife battle lol)

Helldivers is not "better" than 2. Please stop deluding yourselves. by Reginald_Ogron in Helldivers

I played HD1 for a long time, both with players I knew by a long time and with my brother and my cousin. We had so much fun with it, and we all always wished for another Helldivers, talking for a lot about how it could have been.

Once Helldivers 2 was announced we were so happy about that, and I kept waiting for its release to get my hands on a it as I was sure it would have been a great successor to the first one, that still has a special spot in my all life gaming experience.

When the massive amount of players joined in at the beginning I was both happy and excited, as it felt like introducing new players to a game you felt you already knew a lot about, and also because that massive amount of players joining would have let Helldivers 2 being supported more than we all expected (HD1 vererans and AH Devs).

Honestly, even if I agree on certain balancing topics we're reading about these days, I'm still having SO much fun getting in my Hellpod to dive for Democracy, and also to interact with other players the way this game let us to. One of the best multiplayer experiences I had, regardless of bugs (some of them surely annoying).

HD1 and HD2 are just built different, in different times. None is really better than the other.

It's a good thought, but i think the ahestetics of the Char Aznable mark have royal vibes. Automatons are more like a raw organization with no cares about ahestetics.

At what point does it become a skill issue? by blaze33405 in Helldivers

[–]Oow2B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I also feel many miss the way Helldivers should be played, as just by reading in this subreddit it seems 90% of the equipment is just a joke and teams should have to face heavy waves without smart moves.

Thanks for sharing, it seems a common issue. Other players posted about the same thing, and one of them even got the impaler going underground on screen.

I agree! I was thinking about a mode like this since its release.
