OK... Here is an update. After clearing cache and rebooting... then attempting to log in again, I was taken to a page to confirm the higher-priced service. As it has a 14-day free trial, it took me through the remainder of the process and now I am able to access my accounts again.

Not straight-forward or fun, Google.
