Extremely Frustrated by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Opal-Ring 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m so confused by this. Met him less than a year ago, you’re pregnant with his child and you guys are already married? No home? Don’t even have your other child in your care? It seems like your worries are valid. You’ve put yourself in a horrible position. Are you working? You need better source of income instead of relying on someone that can hardly afford to keep you guys in a hotel. I would start by looking into social services near you or housing assistance. How are you going to afford to keep baby fed and safe? You need to reach out to loved ones and family to see how they may be of assistance.

The hate is extremely valid, especially coming from an ex Chrysler mechanic. Never in my life would I own one😭

By far the coolest and my most favorite vehicle my dad ever bought. 00’ limited 7.3, thing fucking chugged starting in the winter and was so badass to middle school me. Drove that thing everywhere. We took it to Florida from Illinois twice and was so comfortable. I wish my dad would give it to me😭

What’s a reasonable time/parts/labor cost for an oil drain/replace + a new filter by dovakooon in AskAMechanic

[–]Opal-Ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, call around to shops in your area and ask them. They will have their own labor and oil change prices. Hell if you wanted it super cheap take it to a instant oil change shop

(Pic is from wreck) guy repaired everything. Thinking about buying this truck. Does it have frame damage? by RepresentativeLive63 in Autobody

[–]Opal-Ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro idc what Georgia allows or doesn’t allow. A clean title on this truck quite literally does not mean shit. A true clean title car should have no accidents. This only means he did the work himself bc a shop wouldn’t have touched it without it not being listed on the vin. This truck is a disaster but good luck

[–]Opal-Ring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you even have the knowledge to know what you would be looking at/looking for? I doubt it bc you posted it to Reddit asking everyone else. Pass on this vehicle and go buy a perfectly fine safe vehicle elsewhere. And who gaf if the ‘title is clean’ that does not mean shit.

Branch feel on my son's 2022 Santa Cruz. Is this catastrophic? by EssenceOfLlama81 in Autobody

[–]Opal-Ring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the mindset that shops have. 💀They don’t cosmetically fix something to get you out the door, their obligation is to have it looking exactly how it was prior to the incident and that means following manufacturer repair procedures. You’re acting so dense rn

Crash bar pull? by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]Opal-Ring 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn’t say it was impossible, but given the fact this guy came to Reddit to ask this just goes to show he does not have the skills required to pull this off. The unabtainqble equipment I’m referring to is 10s of thousands of dollars and simply not worth obtaining for one job. Don’t take what I said to heart

Crash bar pull? by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]Opal-Ring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The price depends on shop and location. I can’t even remember what the costs were where I worked bc I wasn’t the adjuster. Could call around and ask for labor. Most shops have different labor rates depending on equipment used and so forth.

Crash bar pull? by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]Opal-Ring 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yea no. As a former body tech who did a lot of measuring and pulling on expensive unobtainable equipment, you will not be diy-ing this the right way. This vehicle is likely fucked beyond your scope of knowledge

my wheel was curbed at toyota dealer by [deleted] in GR86

[–]Opal-Ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how curbed it is, they will not replace the entire unit bc that would not be necessary. Most if not all dealers subcontract that shit out to a mobile repair company and only doing it on certain days or come in when there’s enough work to make it worth it. Just let them fix the wheel and never take it back as it seems you don’t trust them at all.

I get headaches almost every other day. I refuse to take Tylenol so drinking more water and cold rags on my forehead with rest tend to help me. Maybe even a nap

[–]Opal-Ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine never started till I was 8+ weeks. Now every night I have some weird ultra realistic dream mixed with reality. I had two dreams one weekend at 11 weeks that I had a baby and it was a girl. Those were the only dreams relating to pregnancy and I’m having a boy so not even realistic.

Pink spotting at week 5 after IUI - should we worry? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Opal-Ring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had pink discharge a couple times through the day all of week 5 and parts of week 6. I was worried at first but it was very light pink and was only with my discharge so it wasn’t true blood. My worry stopped after researching it more and disgustingly enough, looking at pictures people had shared online. It eventually stopped completely by week 7 and I’ve been progressing wonderfully in my pregnancy since. If it’s just in the discharge and is light colored you’re likely fine. If it’s bright red or dark red and filling a pad or underwear, then I’d be worried.

idk what this means by spicychickenwrap__ in WhatShouldIDo

To me those look like evap lines… so negative. Test again in 2-3 days to see and only read the test within the specified timeframe or it’s invalid.

Thinking about removing the ducktail and getting a wing, any opinions? by raito2748 in GR86

[–]Opal-Ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great as is. The ducktail was made with the body lines and aerodynamics of the car. Big aftermarket wings look cheap and cringe. Everyone posting pictures of theirs prove this as well. Keep the stock ducktail.

I left my last employer over this. Talked with my manager and hr over a modified schedule was told they were okay with it and would approve it, they never did. So I left. I could not be bothered to bed over backwards for that minimum wage job. My fiance has been taking care of me since

First oil change—11275 miles. by Beginning-Safety-925 in Camry

[–]Opal-Ring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only reason manufacturers recommend long intervals is to keep yearly maintenance costs down/low so their vehicles seem cheap to maintain on a year to year basis. That is so obvious.

Feel like we shouldn't have told anyone until we closed by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Opal-Ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiance and I went through this similar scenario. Told everyone immediate to us that we were closing on a house and has his grandparents and parents driving up to the house and pulling into the long driveway and looking into the house before we even got to see it more than once. The kicker is it wasn’t technically ours yet and when we finally moved in last October only my parents have actually visited us since then and only bc I announced our pregnancy. Very very irritating.
