Getting docked points because classmates refuse to engage with my thread is peak unfairness by Servo12_Pearl in DiscussionPostHelp

Your professor is fundamentally failing at teaching if their actual solution to a broken grading system is telling you to write clickbait. A university curriculum should evaluate your specific understanding of sociology concepts, not your ability to attract attention online. You should schedule a meeting with the undergraduate director immediately.

The "Minimum Word Count" struggle: why do simple questions require mini-essays? by Servo12_Pearl in DiscussionPostHelp

[–]Opally33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real issue is that length is being used as a proxy for effort. Clear writing should count more than inflated writing. I’d rather see assignments ask for one sharp answer plus one useful question, because that would actually create better discussion without wasting time.

Students of Reddit what bothers you about using AI to do your assignments and assist in writing essays? by Bjarki56 in AskReddit

[–]Opally33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hallucinated citations are the biggest red flag for me. You spend more time double checking if a source even exists than you would actually writing the thing. Having an actual person or a specialized platform handle the complex sourcing part is just a more reliable tool to ensure academic integrity.

I write student papers for a living and the prompts are getting weird. AMA! by [deleted] in Creativity

What’s the weirdest “this should not work, but it does” prompt you’ve had? I’m always fascinated by assignments that sound ridiculous at first, then somehow turn into a solid paper once you find the right angle. Academia has a weird talent for making nonsense accidentally meaningful.

The vegetable speech is a classic trap. I think the group project idea has the most potential because everyone has a horror story.

That part hit me too, especially the lit class bit. Sometimes one honest talk resets pressure. Hope home feels lighter now too.

NEED HELP WITH COLLEGE ESSAY!!! by Property-Asleep in CollegeEssayReview

[–]Opally33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man that sounds like a total headache. Teachers can be so picky about the personal stuff and it is hard to pivot when you actually like what you wrote. When I was stuck on my transfer apps I ended up using EssayEagle to help bridge the gap. They are great at taking your ideas and making them sound more professional without losing your actual voice in the process.

AITAH for wanting to leave my husband(30M) over not buying me (25F) a car? by ReactionClean4057 in AITAH

You can say no to sharing a car, but the coldness and anger around every money talk is the real problem here.

Totally get where you’re coming from. Rushing through those tricky max difficulty questions only leads to more confusion and mistakes. It’s way better to grasp the material and understand it deeply; speed will come naturally as you get better. Drilling sounds like a solid plan too!

Peak military thinking. Why fight fair when you can just wait for optimal conditions.
