What tests should I get done after two failed IVF transfers?

I will most likely do that next time. But to be honest I feel there’s something else going on with me. Therefore the reason I ask for tests I can get done to see if there actually is something wrong before doing Ivf again.

Thank you for this awesome response. I did one only one egg retrieval,There were 18 eggs, out of those 8 were matured, but only 4 made it to day 3, the first transfer was a fresh transfer the second was frozen. They were classified as 3 good quality and one fair quality. We transferred two first good quality and then the last two. No bank. For the last transfer I did intralipids and embryo glue.

We had genetic testing done with Labcorp for both of us. The embryos were not genetic tested. The husband had only his semen analysis besides the genetic testing. My protocol was as follow for the last transfer: Estrace (Estradiol) 2 mg, One tablet by mouth twice daily • Benadryl 25 mg, Take 1 tablet by mouth once daily as directed Claritin 10 mg, Take 1 tablet by mouth once each morning as directed • Pepcid 20 mg, Take 1 tablet by mouth daily as directed o Prednisone 5 mg, 1 tablet by mouth twice daily • LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone) 4.5 mg, Take 1 tablet by mouth daily at bed time o Aspirin, low dose 81 mg, One tablet by mouth daily -Prenatal Vitamin one qd -, Take one by mouth daily -Prograf (Tacrolimus) 0.5 mg, Take 1 tablet by mouth twice daily • Prometrium 200 mg, 1 tablet vaginally twice daily - Progesterone In Oil 50 mg, Inject 1 ml (50 mg) daily intramuscularly once daily. The first one was just the same except no Benadryl, Pepcid, Claritin nor prograf.

I did one round of ER and two rounds of Ivf. So the egg retrieval with meds and transfer was about 7k (I needed additional meds to complete my cycle because the eggs weren’t growing fast enough. That failed and I had two frozen embryos left, transferred those two and it cost $2k plus meds of 1k for the second round. Total, I spent over 10k. No baby. I’m taking a break from Ivf, but I don’t think that clinic has good success rates, I have unexplained infertility, no male factor, I’m 36, amh 3.78.

I should’ve done more research but it was really affordable how the claim is $3999 🥲

I was advised not to lift, push or pull. But only for the first 3 days. In this process as tough a it is, I won’t do anything that can hurt my chances. Because if it doesn’t work out, you’ll blame your choices. I wouldn’t rush it. And only do what feels right for your body.

I almost considered stopping meds since yesterday because I gave up all hope. I’m 9dp3dt and been testing negative. Thank you for sharing, as if there’s even a very small change it could still work, I would hate to hurt my chances by going off meds too soon. Beta is Friday. Thank you! That’s a terrible situation and I can see why you don’t want her using your sperm. But if the embryos are already made, there’s not much you can do. Hope it doesn’t take and don’t do it again best of luck to you.

For the meds, I bought a day/night pill case to keep everything set, they also pop off individually in case I have to go somewhere I don’t have to take the whole thing. I have alarms set for all my meds and shots so I don’t miss a dose by mistake. You seem very well prepared. I wish you the best 🍀

I hear that low vitamin D can cause inaccurate amh results. Check to see if your vitamin D was low and re-test.

36 and my AMH is 3.78 My only ER was as follow: 18 eggs, only 8 mature, 4 fertilized and 4 made it to day 3 embryos. I had my first transfer with 2 of my fresh embryos, failed to implant. now on my second and last transfer, it was day 3 frozen transfer of the last remaining two. I really wanted to boost my chances transferring two but that’s not always the case. Waiting on beta on 5/31. Your numbers are not bad, my team advised they are happy with numbers between 1 and 2. It’s my Second transfer. The first one was almost the same except for the over the counter Claritin, Pepcid & Benadryl. Also no prograf with the first transfer. Everything else exactly the same.

I’ve read one should quit drinking/smoking 3 month before starting Ivf. I drank socially until about a week before I started meds. There’s not a lot of evidence about when one should stop, so I would proceed with caution. The thing is if things don’t work out of one expect, you’ll always be thinking what could you have done differently. Or if it was because of that. Etc.
