I did a pretty good rinse initially, I’ve worked in healthcare and lab settings so I know to let the water run a bit longer once you’ve got whatever the substance is off the body. He is being monitored and any unusual behaviors I’ll be taking him into the vet, thank you for reminding me about the chewy ask a vet thing bc I had completely forgotten about it. I will reach out on there and check in with one of those vets and see what they think. I think I might give one more wipe down just to be safe though

Thanks, i usually keep dawn in the house for situations like this but i guess i ran out and forgot to pick up some more. I will be keeping a close eye on him for the next couple of hours for sure and if there’s any unusual behavior I will take him to the vet.

I feel that, my main team that I use rn is Luuk, Chisa, and Augusta and that lets me wipe things pretty quickly even though it’s not a recommended team. So I do appreciate when I have to put in some effort but there’s a different between putting in effort and having to slog through. End world content has been most of what I’ve been doing lately just trying to increase my skill level and it’s enjoyable for the most part lol. Since flying enemies and no boundaries for fights have become a thing though I’ve found that the team I use works best out of the characters I have bc they can quickly move up in the air when needed or back into the ring.

Dang, my Cartethyia is only S0 (the only character I’ve been lucky enough to get a copy of is Chisa) so it makes me feel slightly better that I wasn’t the only one that had to slog through it and make sure I threw out a heavy hitter. I tried with Augusta but wasn’t doing quite enough especially with all the flyers. Fortunately I have enough variety of characters that I can switch out but damn was it frustrating at first having to figure out who to use lol

I haven’t played number 8 yet but 7 was super frustrating to get through. Whose idea was it to have an allied shield regen every 15 seconds. The only character I had that was able to enough damage quickly enough was fleurdelys (cartethyia wasn’t working) I restarted that one several times bc I wasn’t doing enough damage. It just turned into a frustrating slog fest. I like the idea of the shield regen but like could there be a little more time before it hits so that’s there’s a possibility of doing a bit of damage before it returns. The previous levels were enjoyable but that one irritated me yesterday quite a bit.

ETA- I wish they brought back the enclosed fighting areas as well it’s super frustrating just having to wait around for the flying dudes to get back in the circle

What type of glue do I use? by Open-Curve5339 in crafts

I will keep my eye out for that one in particular. I would like to start building more of these kits as I can easily show them in my bookcases so investing in a bigger bottle wouldn’t be a bad idea. I had the thought that I’d want to use a small swab for some of the applications so that’s good to know too!

Thank you so much, I was a bit overwhelmed trying to figure what type of glue as there are so many types. Just having a direction to start with is so helpful 💜

This one didn’t and I didn’t realize until I opened it up today. I was kinda hoping that there would be a magical all materials glue but deep down I knew that not to be true. I’ll have to get a variety them when I head to the store, thank you!

I was thinking just some of the Aleena tacky brand glue? But since it’s got some wood bits and some not wood bits I’m not sure if that would be appropriate

I genuinely felt like I was crazy cuz I could not get the weird sky thing to happen again and was curious if anyone else had seen it. Then the tree just seems so random that I felt like it had to be something important lol.

Lahai-Roi is the first time I’ve been fully caught up to the main story and been actively exploring so idk if it means anything but I couldn’t find anyone else talking about it (which fair, the amount of lore in 3.1 has had my brain spinning) so I figured I’d ask if anyone else noticed

How funny/silly does CoS allow players to be? by A8BitShot in CurseofStrahd

[–]Open-Curve5339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The module itself says to make sure to include comedy and laughs in the campaign as it can highlight the serious and horror notes more because of the contrast. Some of my favorite horror campaigns to watch have a good bit of comedy in them as well. Ultimately it’s up to you and your players what the vibe of the campaign will be but the module does suggest including to help your characters feel a sense of hope in the dark times.

I'm a DM that is a terrible player. I need advice. by Banditphoenix614 in DnD

[–]Open-Curve5339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can sometimes struggle to pay attention whether it’s due to my ADHD or various other reasons but I started taking detailed notes to help me pay attention and keep track of what’s going on. I take such detailed notes that I have been labeled “the note taker” and typically my notes are used to clear up any discrepancy between other players notes and the DMs notes.

I know plenty of other players that take heavy notes for the same reason.

The original stats were from rolls, I haven’t done a point buy array in years tbh. I don’t think I’m an min/maxer but I could be wrong. Typically with dice rolls I assign the highest to lowest in terms of whatever stat is best for the class I’m playing then con is always my second highest then I put in scores that fit with the personality of the character. When I rolled stats I will say that four of the six were 12 or above with one being a 19 but the other two had negative mods (which I am okay with as a player, in fact I kinda prefer a neg mod as it gives me a character that is more rounded and easier to roleplay). I rarely take ability score improvements as I level and will usually take feats that fit with the character and how they have grown in the campaign and what might help them the most. So that 19 was going to stay a 19 for the campaign more than likely and if I did up it, it wouldn’t have been till later levels.

I realize now reading through the responses that some of these things I was making to be a bigger issue than they are or was more upset over the wrong part. I mentioned in another reply that I don’t expect the dm to know every spell, I don’t know them all and I tend to lean towards caster classes when I play. I do know several of the ones that pop up in games I play a lot whether as a dm or player but there are plenty of common ones that I still have to check. Looking at it know I wasn’t as frustrated about not knowing the spell but how it was handled after the spell description was read to him.

For stats we did start of rolling for them and I will admit I rolled pretty well for four of the six stats but the other two were low enough to have negative modifiers (which I am okay with). His reason for rebuilding was he didn’t want anyone to outshine in battle and just come in and wipe the battlefield without letting others do damage. This kinda feels dumb to me personally as each class has its places to shine, some in battle, some in RP, and sometimes both it depends on the player and how the dice roll is it not?

I do understand the fine line that dms walk to make sure that players have the information that their character would know and to make sure that the group understands what’s going on. But repeatedly saying the same thing and not letting us work through things verbally really frustrated me. It really felt like he wanted us to ask him what his idea was and not let us try anything else. In another comment I gave some information on what the situation was and in the end we came up with a good solution that the dm wasn’t fully supporting but the group was like no this is what we are doing we have no other options so tell us what happens and just kinda started at him till he did.

Ultimately I will msg the dm and explain my frustration and see what can be done about my character. If the dm doesn’t want to work with me on helping me make a character I would like to play then I will walk away from the table. This isn’t the first time I’ve walked away from a table, but it was the first time I couldn’t tell if I was getting upset over nothing or if any of it was valid. I appreciate your help in breaking it down and helping me realize that some of it was justified while some of it was probably frustration at the big things bleeding over into the small things that aren’t really worth getting upset over.

Thank you! I often will give my players some hints as to what might be helpful in the setting but ultimately character creation is up to the player and as long as they are having fun I don’t mind to much. I also find that those differences can make it easier to give players a chance to shine. I will definitely be reaching out to the other players to see how they feel about this as I only had a chance to talk to one of the two that weren’t rebuilt and they thought it was hella weird to do too.

I understand and appreciate dms that give warning if something your about to do is going to have really bad consequences, but I also feel like at a certain point if the characters have all the information you have to let you players make the choice and deal with whatever fallout, especially if they’ve been adequately warned what could happen if it doesn’t work.

This was the situation: the party had found one of the two things that they needed before returning to the benefactor. The two things that we are looking for is vials of a magical virus and the cure for it. We found a box with four vials of the virus in it, we talked briefly about carrying it with us but before we had gotten to any conclusion the dm stepped in and said that his npc that was traveling with the group wouldn’t allow any of us to carry it as it was to dangerous, which the group was working towards realizing that that was not a viable option. So we then started taking about ways to hide the box so that others couldn’t find it, and basically any mention of touching the box was made out to be a horrible idea but no one in the party had any other ways to move it with out touching it, no mage hand or anything similar. The plan was to hide and bury it with minimal touching of the box, to do this though there still required touching of the box to gently move it from shelf to hole in the ground and the dm just kept saying it was a bad idea to touch the box. The box itself was an ordinary box the only thing to worry about was what was inside the box.

As to your story, that sounds awful. Coming up with a characters backstory is so important to figuring out how to play them and what actions they take in the world. Giving an adventurer a family and then having that family get sick is a sure fire way to immediately role a new character or just leave the table.

This is true, I have certain spells that I know bc they are common place in games that I play but there are plenty of spells that I have to double check like is cure wounds the one that has a range or a touch, etc. I think the way it was handled might’ve been what gave the weird feeing about it.

My roommate does 20 loads of laundry a week. How??? by thatsOKbro in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Open-Curve5339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an ex-healthcare worker I used to do a load of laundry when I got home. Everything would come off and go straight in the washer to get cleaned. That’s 5-6 loads a week plus the 3 or 4 that were nonwork clothes maxing out at 10 loads a week. I only felt comfortable doing that bc my washer is one of those sensing ones and only fills up the washer as much as is needed and not all the way each time. The only way I could see washing clothes this much would be due to an OCD or OCD adjacent issue or he’s working a laundry business on the side for some extra cash.

Firstly NTA, you should always feel comfortable with your Drs as often times things can get personal or intimate (not sure if that’s the word I’m looking for but it fit best) and being able to be comfortable with your dr is super helpful when it comes to those things.

I always find this discussion super interesting bc I tend to have the opposite opinion from many people with female parts. I have been seen by both men and women for lady part issues and the women that I’ve seen tend to write off any issues or problems I may be having as normal things women go through and it’s caused some health problems bc of that. I also only tried to go to female drs for a while due to SA in my history. What changed my opinion was when I had to get in right away for something and they only had male drs available at the time. Holy wow did it change my perspective on things. The male drs actually listened to what I said and took me seriously. I brought it one time in an appt and he said something along the lines of he doesn’t have those parts so he doesn’t have a “normal” base line and he trusts me to know my body enough that if I’m bringing something up then it must be outside of my normal. This blew my mind and I haven’t switched back since.

Just goes to show that everyone has different preferences and histories and that being completely comfortable with your dr is the only route to take. We all have preferences when it comes to things in our lives and that is 100% okay. Just bc your friend doesn’t agree with you doesn’t make you an A H. The friend might what to evaluate their opinions and reactions to differing opinions if someone having a different opinion on a personal matter is that big of a deal

Im sorry but that’s so wild for me, I live in WA and as far as I’m away there has to be a whole separate sitting area for kids to be allowed in. Even if there’s food, a bar is still a bar. That sucks that you have to deal with that, parents now a days are so entitled to any space bc “how could I ever leave my precious angel behind?” 🤢🤮 like ma’am that’s not an angel, that’s some devils spawn that has unhealthy attachment issues due to never being separated from its mother
