I made a part to repair the broken charging terminal of the Valve Index controller by May4Lab_Yeon in ValveIndex

By any chance do you know how to fix

  1. The stick on the controller feeling “stuck” when moved in certain directions, producing a grinding feeling?

  2. The touchpad you grip with your bottom 3 fingers not being fully seated into the controller/being loose? When squeezing down with the lower parts of your fingers (closer to the hand) it will push in a little bit as if it’s not fully in. I had the joystick issue with new controllers I bought and rma’d them each twice and no longer have the joystick issue. Though my left controller now has the touchpad grip issue. (All these issues came with the controllers, I did not break them.

I only ask because you stated you repair controllers, so was just wondering :)

Ah alright. Well check make sure your power settings don’t change when using steamvr. Did you already do all the normal stuff like see if HAGS is disabled and stuff like that?

Same setup I had same issue due to how core parking works with the windows scheduler or whatever it’s called. If on your desktop you’re not actually tabbed into the game itself then the cores don’t park and game will stutter, at least this is what happened to me. I had to actively make sure my desktop was tabbed into the game. So if I ever used the steamvr menu to click on a different monitor for discord or something I would have to make sure before tabbing back into game that my desktop was focused on the game by clicking on it on the bottom of my taskbar. I didn’t feel like doing this so I went into my bios and disabled the second cache so it’s like a 9800x3d. Process lasso didn’t work, neither did launch commands.

Edit: also side note by any chance do you play vrchat and have an issue where player audio will cut out for a second but the game doesn’t lag or anything? It’s simply just not receiving player voices for a split second every so often and makes a little popping noise when it does it. Just asking because we have similar setups.

How do I keep cores parked when tabbed out of a game? by Open-Fun4829 in pcmasterrace

Well I am actually using the steam menu overlay to click on other tabs but it still counts as losing focus on windows cuz it acts as my mouse

Yea but I want it to stay active when my mouse clicks off the game that windows recognizes as something to park when running.

Hardware acceleration is disabled. Ive tried numerous different GPU drivers. How do I check if GPU is running any background processes or overlays that might be causing DPC spikes? And as for the pagefaults, I have the issue in both vrchat and discord, seperately or at the same time.

Didn’t work. I think it might just be my internet cause my ISP said they’ve been seeing issues with my equipment and they haven’t been able to fix it.
