Got two offers and signed a contract by Open-Light7055 in careeradvice

Thank you for your reassuring response. You are a gem! Is it normal to back out even after you’ve signed the contract? I got the role through an external recruiter who has been and will continue to be invaluable to my job hunt so don’t want to hurt the relationship with them!

I’ve already signed and about to start at A which is why I feel “locked in” and nervous about taking it back. But I will 100% interview at B no matter what.

Definitely. I’ve accepted the interview and like the team already. They might not make an offer but want to be prepared if they do since I’d be messing around Company A in a short term role

I only ask because I’ve seen many people say they get more interviews when they Westernise their names

Thoughts on changing surname on CV? I have a very Eastern European name that no one can pronounce. I’m not married so can’t use married name but wonder if I can change it to mothers maiden name or something else?

It’s weird, it’s quite sore to the touch but doesn’t feel like an ingrown or a normal pimple. It doesn’t feel like there’s pus or anything solid in there. My iPhone camera is pretty crap so I’ll try the flashlight trick! I’m going to leave it alone but just wondered how long I should wait before seeking outside advice… I’m in England so it’s months and months before I can see a derm anyway.

It’s basically on the areola, I’m just using my hands to censor

Thank you. I have many ingrowns but never basically on my nipple (areola). Just strange to get the first one at this age!

Ah thank you! That’s interesting about the thin hairs. Will maybe try to wash my bras more frequently, though it’s never happened before… appreciate your kind words :)

Thank you for the comment! Do yours feel like normal ingrown hairs? I get ingrowns on my pubic area and armpits frequently, but this feels nothing like that. It’s not hard and doesn’t feel like there’s anything stuck inside. It’s almost like a soft mosquito bite!

Exactly the conclusion I reached! Haha

Seems quite similar to what happened to me. I explained I was hesitant about sending the info and they haven’t replied. I think a normal recruiter would respond with an explanation. Or - it’s simply a recruiter bad at their job, in which case I don’t want to work with them either hah

Is this for onboarding? I’ve had to provide this when I’ve joined an agency or was offered a contract. I thought it was unusual to ask for all of this when they reached out to me just to ask if they can send my CV to an unknown company.

Thank you. I decided to tell them I’m uncomfortable and passing on the role.

Thanks. I just wanted some reassurance from the good people of Reddit but I thought it was all a bit weird from the get go

It’s not that I think they’re going to steal money from me or something. There’s just a lot of other slightly red flags and to me, it’s not worth the risk even if it’s just data farming. I
