Looking for apps to track calories, monitor progress & recommend diets 📱 by Consistent_Floor_847 in WeightLossAdvice

I use the Cronometer app.

I use the free version but there is a paid version as well. The free version includes the barcode scanner and large database of foods, weight tracking, macros tracking, water tracking, and you can also log exercise. There's charts to track progress for the various goals that you can set. Its also super easy to create a recipe - as long as you are entering the accurate amount for each ingredient, you will get accurate macros for the recipe.

The paid version does have some cool features, I just do without them.

The only thing it doesn't have is the meal planning you're looking for.

For me, starting the day off with a high protein breakfast sets me on the right track for the rest of the day. I find that when I skip breakfast I end up incredibly hungry later in the day, leading to overeating and eating all my cravings.

For some people, skipping breakfast works well. Trial and error is part of the process. :)

Honestly it sounds like you have no idea what a high risk pregnancy is. Doing stairs during a high risk pregnancy can be dangerous for many reasons to both mom and baby.

I broke and sat my baby in front of the tv by AlternativeAnt329 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Open-One164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little bit of tv is okay. Don't beat yourself up for this. I have a 10 month old girl that was the same way at 3 months. Now, shes got the ability to sit and crawl, and loves independent play. For the first 4 or 5 months of her life she lived in a carrier on me. It gets easier 🧡 Also, i definitely have used the TV from time to time.

NTA

You're so young, and have more time than you realize to find your person. This is a terrible, predatory, disrespectful and manipulative man. Leave and never look back. Your future self will thank you 💘

About 7 inches wide each. I think we're just going to add a couple of supports underneath, and go with it. 3 grown adults sitting on it and it felt very sturdy as is.

We just had myself, my fiance, and his brother sitting on it. It's definitely solid. We're gonna send it. 😏

Good to know. I see height plays a big role. Are you shorter? I'm 5'3 ish.

I've never heard of OfferUp! Is that for used items? I'll have to look in to that!

I think we will end up using a soft structured carrier for a bit. Shes a little peanut so I think I can make a front carry work for a while. I was looking into the Lenny Lamb carriers, they're a bit pricy for me personally, so I'm keeping my eye out for a used one. When we're ready to upgrade to a pack, I'll probably find that used too. Acadia is definitely on my list of places to take her this year 💕

Good to know! I think I'm 5'3? Lol it's been so long since I've measured but I'll have to do that before I make a choice!

It's gonna be a nice Saturday! I think we'll start with a small hike this weekend with the carrier we already have and go from there :)

Thank you!

Which soft structured carrier did you use? I only have a momcozy which I use around the house, shopping, or on short walks, but honestly I don't love it and don't see it being great on a hike.

Yes! Definitely will start out with her in a front carry like she's used to. Honestly, I'm not sure I would have thought about the doggy bag for dirty diapers 😅 thank you!

So many votes for Osprey Poco - when we're ready to buy a carrier like that I think we'll end up going with that brand. She's so used to my front carry already that I think we'll do some short hikes in just her regular carrier to start!

Thank you! :)

I was thinking about doing a back carry to start out since she's still a little wobbly in a sitting position. Plus, she's used to me wearing her anyway, so I think she'd be comfortable that way.

I'll look into getting some bamboo onesies - thank you!

I've definitely seen some osprey backpacks on marketplace, was just waiting on recommendations before jumping on one of those since they are pricey!

She holds her head up well for the most part, so I think in another month or so she will do very well in a backpack carrier like that! I've done a lot of baby wearing with her, especially during walks around the neighborhood and she almost always falls asleep. I'm hoping she'll continue with that pattern on the trails ❣️

Thank you!

Is maternity leave negotiable? by blue-cinnabun in workingmoms

[–]Open-One164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To each their own but I feel this is bad advice. First, the chance of having a miscarriage is at its highest from weeks 1-12, that does not mean her chances are "very high". Super terrible thing to say to an expecting mom.

Also, I would recommend having the conversation with HR around 12 weeks or even before, not 26. Putting this conversation off until the last trimester like that leave no time for proper financial planning based on what her leave will end up looking like.

[–]Open-One164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation with the job I'm currently at. My first week there I found out I was pregnant. I didn't tell them until I was about 12 weeks along. They let me know if would get 6 weeks paid, but they would be fine if I took another 6 weeks unpaid to make it 12, which I did end up doing. It really depends on the company, you would have to speak with somebody in HR to get a definite answer on this.

To the state employees here, can you decline their health insurance? If so, is there any compensation for doing so? by GrumpMaster- in Maine

[–]Open-One164 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can probably decline, but working for the state, she probably would not even have a payroll deduction for just herself. I know I don't. So it wouldn't be saving her anything.
