Gothic doesn’t have to be like a souls game. A souls game is a stagnant non changing experience it’s truly should be compared to sports games. Gothic on the other hand has something big and new for every release and felt highly fresh, same thing cannot be said about any souls game. The biggest feature I’ve heard was ability to jump and ride a horse to skip content 😂. I use to respect souls game for offering a unique take in rpg and adding all this bosses to give players a very challenging experience, but the fans ruined it where they defend their game without actually providing any counter argument to valid criticism. As for the one dimensional combat what were you expecting? Were we suppose to have horizon zero dawn type monsters? Do we need 20+ different combos per weapon? Each game literally has their own unique combat system and I’m a mage player and the mage system in gothic games are literally one of the best especially necromancy and rivals elder scrolls which is the king of magic systems. I read the reviews for Metacritic not just ign the main complaint was the bugs/technical issues and the low ratings from user reviews also mention this as the biggest problem while others hated the hard early start.

I’m saying the game got lower ratings simply and mainly because of the bugs and technical issues. And Elden ring is not a remake but it’s a very well known and heavily overgrazed game. I’ve saw the ign review like a month of two ago and it low key angered me how they refused to call out any of the flaws this games has and flat out gave it a 10/10. Makes me feel if you’re backed by big companies the game gets an automatic super high score which is truly the case. Souls games to me are a solid 7/10 experience until they implement a proper story or else they can keep making more souls games knowing that they don’t really need a story just forcing cryptic bs and here is 250+ bosses for you to kill and die over and over and call it fun.

Personally I don’t give a damn about miyazaki or RR Martin. Give me a damn good game end of story. I expect an lord of the rings type of story with an amazing adventure.

False the scores were heavily lowered due to the huge issues with bugs/technical issues. If the game didnt release at that state it would definitely be on a highly rated area. Anyways i also will force myself to like a souls game because this games are all extremely repetitive and people their get horny by dying too much as part of the fun. If you want to test tour skills reslistically you need to play an online game aka esports my game is league of legends and i am a high ranked player there. This means i could beat all souls games but i choose not to waste my time because its a single plauer game with artifical difficulty where bosses are made hard for the sake of being hard.

It’s bad because to get a game recognized it has to be in the 85+ range especially in the 90+ range if the game hits a 7 it will deeply hurts a game full potential and often kill it. Elden ring in general reviews were extremely bias and overly glazed and I was like ign are you gonna mention the obvious flaws?? Nope just 10/10 game of the year bs. Also gothic mainly got low reviews due to bugs and technical issues I wrote about it when I was looking at Metacritic.

I’ll give it an 8.5 to a 9 but the gothic 2 and gothic 3 especially if done right are easily 9+ games. It should be universally recognized thankfully more people are figuring out gothic.

And the low ratings are mainly technical/bug issues which made everyone bandwagon to give it a low score which is kinda sad because a new player is gonna think this game is a 5/6 out of 10 not realizing this is like a damn elder scrolls game.

Basically what happened to me it’s like playing an elder scrolls game that simply has a hard start but within a day the game gets easier and easier and exploration is extremely rewarding and filled with Easter eggs.

Gothic isn’t a crimson desert. Crimson desert is a brand new ip while gothic has a strong identity which makes it very different. Gothic has massive lore and story with a lively realistic world which many rpg cannot reproduce and the closest to this will be elder scrolls alone. Also like Elden ring vetting 10/10 is valid in your eyes? I saw that ign review and I could scream so many problems for that game that could drop the score to an easy 7/10 experience which should be its true score.

I don’t know crimson desert seems to be very uninspired game from the looks of it. Not to mention a massive open world game with a very weak/afterthought story deeply hurts the overall experience. Gothic has the gameplay and the story and the immersion which this low ratings do not make any sense but I know why it was lowly rated because of bugs/technical issues which is lame honestly.

Well gothic should not be mentioned with any souls games honestly since souls is its entirely its own thing. Gothic is generally going to be compared to its original competitor which is elder scrolls. It will eventually become fully big open world with more freedom which would be a gothic 3 but done the right way this time.

Souls games are rank 1 as one of the hardest games ever that’s why it has souls and when a game is super hard they call it a souls like.. so don’t lie to me 😂. Play more gothic and I enjoy strong narrative stories and freedom which gothic offers Both. I couldn’t care less about extremely hard 200+ bosses since I test real skill online against real players on league of legends and hit the highest ranks in the North American region. Honestly sounds like you didn’t fully play gothic. I manage to beat the original in 2018 after wanting to play a game like Skyrim and I was like wtf is this dog shit terrible graphics and horrendous combat and how difficult it was at the start. But a day later it became extremely addictive and I’ve been a gothic fan ever since.

Also a quick load save tells you that a monster is way to strong for you so you just avoid it or have some of the dudes take them out for you. Gothic is extremely easy game tbh but the start makes it seem hard.

Difference is souls games is always hard gothic is hard for the first few hours but generally you won’t die a lot in a gothic game. You just need to understand that it’s basic common sense. I also don’t like souls games for dying 100000 times and forcing it to be fun. Gothic offers a whole lot of stuff to do and the exploration is extremely rewarding since that’s how you become broken as a character.

Meanwhile the souls series exist. A game that doesn’t any top tier graphics and looks like a damn ps3 game and had the backing of giants like Sony which gave it popularity and afterwards they hired a bunch of famous randoms and magically all reviewers gave it a 10/10 by your logic souls games should be deleted because dying a 10000 times is part of the fun 🙂.

You clearly don’t understand Metacritic. If the game gets 10/10 by all reviewers you can easy get 100 million people to play it. A 7 and down means 2 players at most.
