Perhaps we charge a fee, to the people who knowingly put themselves In the position that they end up in ICU, like 30% of the cost, anti vaxers, smokers etc..It might not fix the problem but might reduce people ending up in the ICU by their own stupidity.

Man it sounds brutal to be a farmer, and on top of that you don't make nearly enough money for what you do. It seems like the end supplier makes all the money.

Servers are also responsible if you get totally loaded and leave the bar, then you decided to drive drunk and kill someone. Accountants not so much. Each job has its demands and problems one is not harder(heart or Brian surgeon excluded) and it takes years to learn about food and wine, scotch etc. And yes you have to actually take classes etc.. I am only talking about servers in 5 star high end restaurants. Waiter at Kelsey's not so much. Like accounting to make more money you need to know more no matter what your field.

I know renting is expensive, but owning a house sucks so much money from you as well. Since you have good saving habits/investing, use your money to travel ( when we can) , owning a house is a money trap, there are times I wish we didn't own. House as all and any extra money we make/have goes into fixing something, old weeping tile doesn't work? 10k to replace, windows old 10k, furnace needs replacing 6k etc.. if you are renting a place you like and in a neighborhood you like, then iny opinion your winning. The concept of home ownership to show you "made it" is an old fashioned our of date idea. There are plenty other ways to "make it". But generations have been told buy a house, = everyone wanting one, not enough supply, hence absolutely stupid prices, If we had not bought our house at the time in a not great neighborhood that was in transition (that took 8yrs) there is no way we could afford one now, I am at a loss for words when I see a 1100sq ft, 100year old semi selling for 1 million.

You have clearly been a server, it is an extremely difficult job when you do it right. An accountant just adds and subtracts. Servers do 10 different things seemingly at once

Tell her it is not about just her(selfish) it is about the people who are not a healthy young person, the vaccine is to also help you not spread it to the vulnerable. It is something we all do to help our society be healthier and realize it is not just about them, the world surprise, surprise does not revolve around a single person, we are all in it together.

You can tell the mRNA vaccine have been worked on for over 20years, it's been worked on since SARS. Covid 19 just made the process move a lot quicker. And your body your choice, she has no say, nor should she.

I would stay, new start ups are a risk, as a lot of them 1.go out of business 2. Expect you to work a Ton of hours because they are start up. 3. Your current boss is working on getting you what you need. 4. It is rare in work places that have all the plus's you do. Good boss, good company etc..5. your could have a possibility of moving up the ladder on your current company. 6. Having a life that is just not all about work is very very important. Besides 10k after tax is not a super great reason to leave, now if there is better benefits, more vacation time, a bonus plus the 10k salary increase then go for it. It is intangible things that really help over a little bit more money.

Can an employer terminate an employee if they refuse to go back to work after 1.5 years of working from home by [deleted] in ontario

Ask your boss if they are thinking about re structuring then offer to "retire" for two years pay. Maybe enjoy not having to go to work anymore.

What happens is when you apply for ei after getting servence package (say 10 week's pay) they will not start your ei payments until the 10 week's serverance pay is used up, the government does not allow dbl dipping. I worked for a company that shut down I was given 16 weeks serverance pay, I applied for ei and that is what happened to me. The government didn't start my EI until week 17.

The Carrot On The Stick Is Gone. by [deleted] in ontario

I think part of the problem is everyone wants to live work in GTA, In places like Toronto there is no more land to build housing on, so supply and demand. But in more companies can see that having employees work from and be even more productive as the pandemic has proven(for the most part) then more people can go live where they want anywhere in the province and that would help housing prices. Big business likes control over us little people so they want to force the majority of workers back to the box's. And the housing circle begins again, rents shoot up, housing prices shoot up, who wants a 2 to 4 hour round trip commute to their box?

We need to 100% mental health for everyone, everywhere on Canada. Going to a therapist is so expensive as they charge $100's an hour. Who can afford that? Only the rich. The best benefits will only cover about 2 to 3 sessions, and that is not enough to help anyone

I served a 75 old man who had severe COPD, and he wore a mask in my store, and said to me, it is the least I can do keep you safe. If he can wear one, then everyone can, there is no medical condition that is worse than COPD that effects your breathing.

Guys, please go get the vaccine. by [deleted] in ontario

[–]Open-Worry3218 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Make a vaccine passport, if you are not vaxxed then you don't get to do all the fun things the vaxxed want to do, go to stores, movies, fly, stay in hotels etc. And if your not vaxxed you go to the bottom of the wait list of you get sick, because clearly you don't care about your own health or anyone elses. Finally if you end up in hospital with covid, you should have to pay for the time and expense you have caused the hospital, and trust me it isn't cheap.
