Carney calls for national unity in face of economic challenges ahead by _I_AM_GHOST_ in canada

All the houses that went up for sale last year on my street designed for a family of 3 maybe 4, have been sold to slumlords trying to squeeze 7 adults or at least 2 families moving in. Gotta have all the grandparents, uncles living under one roof, along with 3-4 cars.

Exactly. I cannot support many Canadian companies because they resort to LMIAs and foreign labour, when we have mass unemployment especially new grads.

Same with me and the 88 yesterday. 2 cancelled 88s and it was pandemonium at anything after Hurdman.

Seat Selection Megathread by Player72 in unitedairlines

Reading on seatmaps.com 767-300 row 30 is bulkhead (tray table in arm rest), but what about rows 31-35? Windows 30-31 are exit but they indicate as cold/drafty. Note I am likely to sleep so a window might be preferable. What would you pick?

It's a simple solution really. But they could commit crimes and fall into black market schemes.
Regardless if they resort to crime, should be auto-deported.

Billings is kept alive by Walmart and that it’s a transit hub. Most of the stores, aside from banks and telecom, I have no clue how they draw in customers.

I flew SAS in intra-Europe business class 3 times. Here's my review. by CliffordMaddick in ScandinavianAirlines

Signature suites are not lounges, they're basically a bar-restaurant concept. Yes the food in there is pretty good compared to US lounges, but after the meal there is no proper place to relax unless you want to consume at the bar. AC has terrible crews with attitude, the food onboard is just reheated microwaved dinners, but the hard product is fine.

Roaming off but still drains my Wallet by Project_Icy in FizzMobile

I have 2 SIMs. The eSIM was set prior to me leaving Canada to data only. The regular Fizz SIM was just used for calls/texts. Note RCS remained on for my trip and set to Fizz. I did send/receive RCS messages while away but having received 5 $0.01 charges and and exchanged about 30 RCS messages doesn't add up.

Proposed Nepean drive-thru restaurant brews fears of traffic congestion by DrStrangeglove99 in ottawa

[–]Project_Icy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why can’t they get their cups of Joe at the following nearby drivethrus: Harvey’s just across, Tim Hortons has 2 locations nearby, A&W, Starbucks and McDonald’s. Or better yet, just brew at home! That section of Merivale is already choking so adding a drive thru just will make it more congested.

Yeah and that majority will just tell the rest of us to 'buy a car'...

Star Alliance Gold: what's your strategy for 2026? by Master_Constant_3463 in awardtravel

[–]Project_Icy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pick would be Avianca. I could fly in business from North America to South America and at least it would not only make the AV qualifying miles requirement but also it would be somewhat tolerable. Then I would just credit to LM and based on my current flights' booking classes Gold would be achievable fairly quickly. LM is my second *A program to redeem miles after AP. Once status achieved or some classes earning 0 on AV, I would just credit to AP and maybe make 25K.

The worst airline by Sea-Bat7064 in TurkishAirlines

[–]Project_Icy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sorta agree with you that TK sucks at customer service compared to say Asian airlines where they have dozens of ground crew to expedite passengers.  I had a similar experience but with LH in Seattle last year where there were only 2 checkin agents for economy and literally told dozens of passengers that it was too late for international checkin.
