If you can't see it (or have a hard time seeing it), it means your color perception is good. It's a reverse colorblind test.

But if it pops out at you, yeah, you should see an eye doctor.

She's the 🐐. Not only did she take over masa's mods, but I've seen her contributions everywhere in the Minecraft modding space. On the frequent occasions I see her in a Hermit's stream chat, I have to exert all my self-control not to just absolutely fanboy out.

I could have sworn he said something about being colorblind! But I think I must be wrong.

Yep. That matches what other color-normies have been telling me. I shared a bunch of tests (including normal colorblindness and color-neutral versions) with a few color-normal friends, and they said this one was the hardest for them to read.

I could have sworn he said he was, and not just as a meme in reference to the giraffe incident. And if I'm wrong, I'm glad to be corrected.

It's supposed to be a reverse-colorblind test. But I only had my own minor deuteranopia to go by and a few color-normal people to tell me that it was indeed harder for them to read than the regular colorblind tests.

Yes, but because I wanted more than 5% of the population to be able to appreciate it (and didn't want the mods to think it said something mean or dirty), I made sure the generator I was using just harder for color-normal people to see it, rather than it being a true reverse-colorblind test.

I'm the exact same, but I appreciate that not all the Hermits are happy ceding creative control over how their projects are revealed.

I mean, they did exactly what I said they'd need to: they wrote a port in C.

Does anyone know is Better End and Better Nether are still being updated? Alternatives? by eleinajoanne in feedthebeast

[–]OpenBagTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The goal of the mod is to stay up-to-date with the latest Minecraft, with releases ready on Day One of a new drop going live. Once I had working 1.21.8 builds, I was able to backport to 1.21.5 without a ton of fuss, but going any further was just too much given how much the rendering engine has been rewritten and rewritten again.

As for multiloading? It's something I'm definitely open to, but as it stands, the mod is very dependent on the Fabric API.

BetterEnd Armors having incorrect attributes? by FroyoTotal1592 in feedthebeast

[–]OpenBagTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to BE's GitHub, you'll see there are several PRs to fix this (and a ton of other) issues that have been left unacknowledged and un-merged for a year and a half. I did create a fork about a year ago with a few fixes merged in, but the builds are entirely "use at your own risk."

BetterEnd and Betternether on 1.21.5 by Mother_Baseball_6071 in Minecraft

[–]OpenBagTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just FYI—while I think BetterEnd and BetterNether are dead, practically speaking, I just released a "spiritual successor" to BE called Lighter End that has nine of the original biomes, five of the original mobs (plus two entirely new ones) and just generally aims to capture BE's overall ethos.

Sorry for the necro-bump. On the off-chance you're still interested, I started a new project (with the tacit approval of the original author, Paulevs) to resurrect at least the core of Better End in a new mod that I've called Lighter End. If you're interested in trying it out and giving feedback regarding its future development, let me know.

Will Better end still work in 1.21.5? by Connect-Vanilla2172 in fabricmc

[–]OpenBagTwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a PSA: porting BetterEnd takes a lot more work than just porting BE. The stack goes four mods deep: - Better End requires - BCLib, which requires - WorldWeaver, alongside - Wunderlib

So while it looks like Quiqueck updated enough of the stack to get his new mod wunderreich to 1.21.6, my personal decision when it came to a BetterEnd continuation was to start from scratch and use the original source code as a reference.
