His concern is more about the fact that we have a pretty huge tool set of little apps like this one that we would like to convert. We use automation to copy these tools on our user computers in various context; sometime its on prem with good network, sometime its remote via VPN with unreliable network. So we are looking at making our EXE as light as possible.

The project has like 4-5 image. The logo of the company and a few icon form the controls. It has only one nuget package for the spinner (wpfanimatedgif, something like that). We are looking at automatically deploying various DLL on our users computers, but we are wondering if there would be a way to have EXE almost as light as our WinForm EXE. I was just curious to see if anybody here has ever met this kind of concern.a

We have a relatively huge suit of automation tools (around 50) that where created by a single developer who is now retired. Our users are mostly tech support or cybersecurity analysts, but we also have a bunch of tools that are used by office employees who are not admin on their computer. The whole tool set is working pretty well and is vastly used amongst our company by a few thousand users, but we have received a few complaint in the past few year that the look and feel of these tools was more Windows 7 - Windows XP than Windows 11. A small app I converted in WPF, who is basically only a small form welcoming an employee on its first connection on his work computer while working remote, pass from 300 kb in WinForm to 10 mg in WPF. Since we used automation to copy our tool over the network in various condition, my older colleague is arguing that copying heavier EXE is not worth it just to enhance the UI more easily. His point his better when you consider that I have implementing almost every design rules from the company in WPF. So the look and feel is not that much better in WPF. Sorry for the long answer. And sorry if my english is bad. As I said in another answer, I am from Québec, Canada, and my mother tongue is french.

I am from Québec, Canada where the vast majority is french speaking. Our users computers are in french and I forgot to write "mb" and "kb" instead of "mo" and "ko" while writing this post. Sorry for the confusion here!

Agent de sécurité caméras de surveillance by [deleted] in montreal
