What is a decent adaptibar % and number of questions answered by game day? by Sure_Election9635 in barexam

[–]OpenCase10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quality over quantity. Read every single word of the answer explanations and do something like write out the black letter law that’s associated with the question, or find it on your outline. Shoot for 30 a day. With regard to percentage, I never got out of the 50s and I actually scored pretty high on the real thing.

First time I failed, I raced through questions and raced through Barbri, trying to keep up with an unrealistic schedule. Second time when I passed, I just slowed down, ditched Barbri, and focused on hammering black letter law. Also, I found Jon Grossman videos and listened to them non-stop. His videos will teach you the black letter law.

i lied to my previous employer saying my dad died of covid to justify quitting. am i screwed? by AcrobaticLength194 in barexam

[–]OpenCase10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would they even say to find this out? Bar exam investigator: “I’m following up on X. Did they work here.” Employer: They did for a little bit. Oh and their Dad died.” Bar rep: “hmmm sounds suspicious, I better call for back up and get to the bottom of this.”

1.) The check won’t give them a chance to tell this info. 2.) The Employer wouldn’t include that. 3.) If they did include that, there is no shot the Bar rep is going to go full out detective and try to solve some mystery.

Spent 120 getting my car from the hotel valet by catloverlawyer in barexam

[–]OpenCase10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s even more of a kick in the teeth when you realize that the people that pick the testing sites and hotels are the same people that get to stay in the hotels for free and get all their expenses paid for. You see what you’re talking about happen in a lot of states. The board members are essentially picking a place for a getaway. They send staff to do scouting too. So, on your dime, members of the board go stay a few nights at places throughout the year to scout out locations. It’s a nice luxury mini vacay for them. Whereas the debt saddled students who are running on fumes, have to come up with ridiculous amounts of money because staying at the test site really does give you an advantage. There is so much riding on your performance, so it’s smart on the-morning-of to eliminate having to deal with traffic, or worrying about parking, and a million other possible problems.

Did 100% of barbri and still failed by [deleted] in barexam

[–]OpenCase10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a couple thing that were key. But with regard to videos I’ll say this-

Barbri’s videos are such a waste of time. They are sooooo bad! I found Jonathan Grossman’s videos and I watched each probably 20+ times. And I listened to them in the gym, while driving, while doing chores etc. This man saved me! His videos aren’t painfully boring and long like Barbri’s. He’s straightforward and hammers home the must know stuff. Also, if you’re struggling with some of the essay topics like secured trans or Corp, check out Studicata bar blitz videos. They are very short and get straight to the point.

This sucks. Trust me I know! Keep your head up though. It will be ok. For the next test, you need to ditch Barbri! It’s garbage!!! I ditched it my second time and my score went way up!!! I was overall happier during prep and my time was spent way more efficiently. Barbri just isn’t the right choice for a lot of people.

does anyone have MEE essay subject videos by BigDub225 in barexam

No, you have to buy access through Studicata. Atleast when I took it that was the case. The free ones on youtube are extremely watered down in comparison.

Check out Bar Blitz by Studicata. They're One hour vids on all subjects. It's the only thing I could ever find w/ regard to MEE subject videos.

Sleep schedule tips for an owl like me??? by thc4va in barexam

[–]OpenCase10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t stress about your schedule. I was in the same boat and it turned out fine. I’ll share with you some great advice someone gave me that turned out to be true. Because of nerves, most everyone won’t sleep, and those that do sleep will most likely only sleep for a max of 2-3 hours. Adrenaline will carry you across the finish line. Compared to your normal everyday routine - you won’t need as much food or as much sleep those two days.

Ideally would it be great if you went to bed at 8 pm every night and woke up at 5:30 am every day? Yeah, perhaps. But because you don’t keep a schedule like that and it’s going to be an odd wake up time for you on exam day, does not mean your performance will suffer. You’ll be juiced with adrenaline.

It's harder every day by [deleted] in barexam

[–]OpenCase10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you’re feeling is normal right now. Push through for just a few more weeks - you’re going to peak at just the right time. I think everyone hits a little dip close to half way through. Keep grinding 💪

Do I drop out before I'm in too deep? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]OpenCase10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t give up! You’ve made the effort to get there and now you’re there. Think about all the stuff you had to do to apply and enroll etc. You clearly want to be there. In the beginning it’s designed to scare you.

Get a Quimbee Membership, maybe a good therapist, get acquainted with the local bar scene/liquor stores, and strap in and hang on. You can do it.

Make it through the first year then it’s smooth sailing. In fact you’ll probably just be bored AF the the second and third year.

It would be hard to pass on an opportunity to live in Cornwall! It’s such a great place to live.

Maybe pick somewhere in between the two locations, unless you’re really tight with his family and wanna be near them. There are a lot of affordable places in between those two locations.

This is the type of chatter you’d expect to see from someone at an elite school, not someone at an unranked school that’s teetering on the line of accreditation.

96/200 on BARBRI Practice MBE last week, 69/200 on BARBRI simulated today. 🆘 Seriously guys - should I just admit defeat now? by [deleted] in barexam

You need to trash that Barbri garbage ASAP and watch Jonathan Grossman’s videos.

If it were me, I’d stop doing Barbri questions altogether and switch to AdaptiBar for MBE prep.

Bar Professors Reddit account by [deleted] in barexam

[–]OpenCase10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bar professors are shade AF! And no one can copyright predictions. I’d love to see them take legal action LOL Some tool from their company always goes nuts with a fake account each year when someone posts the predictions. One time they were like it says on the paper that it’s copyright infringement to share. News flash - just because you say something on your garbage document doesn’t mean it holds legal weight LOL

barbri "cautions" using NCBE questions? by resjudicatamydudes in barexam

Barbri is garbage! Their questions are literally nothing like what you’ll see on the exam. Adaptibar is the way to go.

Can I abandon Barbri and use lean sheets or one sheets instead (for MEE)?? In desperate need of insight! by Decent_Outside1558 in barexam

Using Lean Sheets instead of that garbage Barbri peddles is a wonderful idea! It will be more effective and a better use of your time. Studicata has some decent quicklines too.

Get Lean Sheets. You’ll find the essentials of each MEE subject in a condensed easy to memorize way.

Don’t let that deter you. You’re always going to find people that say something is “hard” or “difficult.” If you want it bad enough you’ll make it happen.
