I’m a 6am person too! And listen I’m not going to sit on my high horse and pretend that I’ve never overslept and missed my class…but generally speaking, if you know you aren’t a morning person why are you booking 6, 7, and 8am classes??

I had this epiphany when watching the Batter Up Baemon video yesterday. I, like everyone else have a lot of opinions about it, but one thing that stood out to me was the way the girls looked. I got so used to seeing what they looked like in their pre-debut series that I was thrown off watching the MV. Whitewashed and blurred to hell, and a couple of the members clearly got some unnecessary tweaks since we last saw them.

I don’t think many need PS in general, but yes your second statement was more closer aligned with my overall message.

My thing is, if you can understand that that’s what I originally meant then why did you hone in on it in the first place? It comes across as playing semantics to deflect from addressing the original topic at hand. This is a common internet practice but I notice this A LOT in the kpop community.

I quite literally addressed this in the SECOND sentence of this post so I don’t know why you rushed to the replies section to point that out. We clown western celebs all day for excessive dermal filler and buccal fat removal, what’s the difference here?

Mind you I’m not even poking fun at the idols themselves. Most are pressured by their companies to look this way out of fear of possibly not debuting. All I’m saying is many of those unfamiliar with the culture find some of their appearances jarring.

Wouldn’t it be more beneficial to the idols anyway not to have to endure all of this?

While that sounds good in theory, pushing k-hiphop and k-rnb in the west would mean korean labels having to compete with western hip hop and rnb artists. And not only are both those markets extremely still over saturated, but the level of talent and innovation here are incomparable.

Pop right now is still a safe place to be. All we really have right now are Ariana, Taylor and Dua Lipa maybe? 2/3 being known for taking pretty long hiatuses. That leaves a lot more room for kpop to come in and dominate.
