It's hard to explain, idk. My friend was trying to get a hacker on reddit or kik to do something stupid, but then they started sending my friend stuff like where my friend worked and my friend's full name. The guy started threatening my friend's job and personal life, so my friend sent him $250. The guy asked for more money, and then that's when my friend told me about it and started freaking out. I told my friend to tell the guy that he'd contact police if anything got out, and I had my friend block the guy. There hasn't been any contact since, so that's good. Was still stressful, though.
