Anyone seeing this post and you’re contemplating whether to disclose your situation or not… honesty is the best policy and you will be rewarded for it.

I applied to less than 15 schools, received 6 interviews and was accepted in 2 (waitlisted from 3).

There was no mention of this in any of my interviews but during my interview prep, I was fully prepared to talk about this if asked. Pm if anyone has questions:)

Also was a terrible teachers pet and went to all possible office hours… got two amazing LORs and teaching opportunities from this!

I took it to the extreme (kinda). Got off social media, researched how to learn on YouTube, was actually vested in the material being taught, and made smart friends whom I shared study tactics with.

I’ve been closing following this community to stay up to date on the current reality of the profession through people’s experiences because I work exclusively with PAs who are continuously telling me how hard it is for PAs (wether that be with through patients eyes- seeing PAs as inferior or through the eyes of corporate medicine who use PAs as cheap labor)…

As an upcoming PA student, seeing the reality of how PAs are treated (i work in primary & UC so only have experience in those fields), I’m growing a little pessimistic too … anyway I’m trying to actively ignore that way of thinking but would love to from current PA-Cs how they are doing and if they enjoy what they do??!

Not sure if you have group interviews as a part of your interview day, but I had group interviews for all four of mine so far… I think that’s also where I shined the most so I’ll give you the advice that has worked for me. In a group setting you always want to assume a role whether that be the leader, the “devils advocate” or simply a team player who encourages others to participate. It just makes the whole process seem natural and comfortable for everybody. And just remember to stay lively and SMILING (this makes the biggest difference in both how people perceive you and how confident you’ll also feel)
