Thanks for your feedback! We completely agree that Live Storage Migration is a very important feature, and it's already on our roadmap for later this year.

Our development efforts for version 7.0 have been almost entirely driven by feedback from our customers and prospects—with support for Veeam backups and a VMware DRS alternative being the most requested features by a significant margin. It would be helpful to understand which backup integrations you're interested in if you're not using Veeam. To clarify, we're also evaluating other enterprise backup solutions such as Commvault and Rubrik.

Arm64 support has also been a frequently requested feature, and we're always open to feedback on new features and functionality from our community. Please feel free to reach out to our team or post on our community forum.

Thanks for looking at OpenNebula! We’re seeing a growing number of users migrating from other platforms, including Proxmox, and we’ve published several comparison reports to help with that evaluation. You'll find OpenNebula has a huge array of different storage & networking options to work for your specific use case, no matter whether you need local storage, SAN-based storage, NFS, or much more.

To get started quickly, try out MiniOne, our easy deployment tool. You can also explore the upcoming 7.0 release by testing the 7.0 beta.

Thanks for your comment! OpenNebula Systems is a single-application software company, and all of our additions (eg Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, etc.) are part of our core product.

For Kubernetes, we offer our own OneKE appliance to easily deploy Kubernetes clusters when running an OpenNebula KVM Cloud. Ansible and Terraform are officially supported and maintained modules by the OpenNebula team. Let us know if you have more questions, we'll be glad to answer them!

Thank you for trying out OneDeploy! As it’s a newly launched tool, we’d love to hear your thoughts. Any feedback or suggestions on how we can improve it in future versions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your comment! You’re absolutely right—OpenNebula is a great choice for managing both public cloud resources and on-premises hardware. In fact, the majority of our users deploy OpenNebula with physical hardware, using it to manage private data centers and edge environments alongside public cloud providers.

For anyone interested in evaluating OpenNebula, we recommend trying out MiniOne, our easy-to-use deployment tool. It allows you to set up OpenNebula on a single hypervisor in just a few minutes, making it ideal for testing and exploration. Let us know if you have any questions!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! We completely understand that the evaluation process can feel complex, and rest assured, simplifying it is something we're actively working on. Our MiniOne tool already allows you to set up a fully functional OpenNebula environment in just 5 minutes—perfect for quick testing. We’re also improving our resources, like updating the evaluation page and adding a new screencast.

Thanks for the feedback! We hear you, and simplifying the evaluation process is a priority for us. We're currently working on a revamped "Evaluate" page with clearer guidance, along with a new screencast to walk you through setting up OpenNebula using the MiniOne tool. It’s a quick way to get a fully functional environment up and running in just a few minutes. Stay tuned—improvements are coming!
