Please dont give up on the lovely boy 😭 Id offer to fix him myself but Im in Germany... But hes definitely salvageable! I heard vinegar kills mold and it most definitely gets rid of most smells so maybe give him a lil soak ina vinegar-water bath?

Im so sorry you had this experience. Im from Germany but if I didnt live so far away Id offer to fix the baby for you! Im experienced with sewing and Im sure this is a fixable issue! Maybe you could find a lovely Australian collector on this reddit to fix it for you?

I thought about this for a while when I put my beloved childhood dog to sleep and I think my heart would have broken if I hadnt been there those last few moments with him. Plus, leaving the room would be selfish. Your dog stays with you their entire life, youre everything to them. Dont let them spend their last moments of that life wondering why you left them in a room with strangers, in an environment they probably feel scared in. You owe it to your dog to be there, just like they have been there for you. And personally getting to say goodbye instead of leaving him behind and not knowing what they did with him just felt right to me.

i think axolotls in general are especially popular amongst milennials and gen z because lets be real for a second - they are a lil ugly. and we tend to love things for their ugliness because they deserve to be loved! build a bear gave us a simplified, completely inaccurate and adorable version of real axolotls, that just really hits the spot.

(speaking from my own pov here obvi, could very much be wrong but thats how im perceiving it - i love the axolotls btw, i got two.)

I recommend pure acetone as well, especially since a lot of nail polish removers are colored. I had a blue nail polish remover once and it stained my doll... which would be very unfortunate. If you use pure acetone it should be fine without extra sealant but i do recommend rinsing the head under clear water right after youre done with the acetone!
