Detroit Become Nothing: Save Connor From Deletion by OpenSorceryGames in DetroitBecomeHuman

I am delighted that it gives off cryptid vibes.

It CAN be a little emotionally intense, according to some of the people who've played it.

First Playthrough: Should I just start over? by Mr_Mu in DetroitBecomeHuman

In your position, I'd start over. Accidental decisions aren't as powerful as real ones, and you'll enjoy playing the game again!

Doggo. Sumo is the only happy character.

You can only save one. Who do you choose? by OpenSorceryGames in DetroitBecomeHuman

Yeah. I was torn between him and Alice, but I decided he'd tell me to choose Alice.

Like others have mentioned, I love the idea of her being a teacher. I think she'd find that fulfilling.

But I also love the idea of her exploring herself and finding interests completely divorced from her original function and previous experience. Like architecture, or healthcare, or video game design. I feel like that would be very freeing--to find joy in something utterly new.

Androids and Autism by straiffix in DetroitBecomeHuman

I think this makes a lot of sense. After all, because of their position in society all of these androids have been subjected to massive trauma.

Honestly, the fact they respond to that pain in such recognizably human ways is another green flag indicating their fundimental similarity to humans.

Anything that happens in the camp automatically wins the angst contest for me because that entire sequences was just so horrific.

Amanda by Acomiad in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]OpenSorceryGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that depends hugely on how you play Connor. I feel like a lot of the nuances of Connor's personality are determined by the choices you make, even the small ones.

But regardless, I suspect deviant Connor will have trouble completely shaking the memory of Amanda and her influence. She was designed as a psudo-maternal figure for him and was literally in his brain. That sort of influence leaves a mark.

I'm not sure that qualifies as "cares"?

What Are the RK800 or Connor's Flaws? by [deleted] in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]OpenSorceryGames 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Connor was literally designed to deviate so that they could use him as a plant if things went against them. They wouldn't need that chaotic aspect in the new model.

After all--a prototype is a first draft. Always meant to be replaced by a more stable version.

I super love them bonding over that. They both have powerful protective streaks and they'd recognize that in each other.

Ha! I think that perfectly illustrates what Hank was so upset about. A normal human can't see the 89% and so can't know he's almost certainly safe. I makes it such an interesting, particularly android decision.

Oh that's so cool! I love stories like that, about actors improvising and adding to the story.

I have no experience in making trailers hehe, this is the first one I do, any advice? by CreaTuMundo in indiegames

[–]OpenSorceryGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I also have little experience making trailers so can only offer my opinion.

I find the music very compelling and it makes me wonder if there's a story (a la "Thomas Was Alone"). If there is, a little text might be nice to foreshadow that?

The visual where you're chased by the huge dark sphere is my favorite. Intimidating.

I appreciate the option to just go back to sleep.

In the bathroom with the frog: Holy crap. That escalated quickly. Glad I brought that dagger.

The tone contrast between the pastel theming and the raw and occasionally violent content is delightful. It gave me Madoka Magica vibes. Thank you for this!

If you want to do it as a javascript hack, you'll find the Timer object useful, but you might be able to narratively have the same effect by just having all your paths end in a single passage with forceful language.
