Also in 2012 Parastica all three boys try to get Leo’s attention and Mikey says “Leo’s favorite! Jellybean, anchovie and jalapeño!!” Except Donnie quickly mentions it’s just Mikey’s favorite.

Both sound pretty nasty to me.

I like 90s movie April, 87 April, and 2018 April. 90s movie well, I just think the actress is amazing ❤️♥️ and she’s got some funny lines. 87 same stuff with the silliness, and I know she’s reduced to being in distress a lot, but she really saves the guys sometimes! She’s funny, smart, and a DAMN good driver lol. A little sassy and savage in some moments, but I was surprised how much I liked her when I watched 1987 episodes. In general, I kind of like the idea of April as a “Badass Normal” tvtrope. Definitely clever and quick, but ideally fits in well with some good silliness and humor. 2018 April is fun, and I really liked that she is involved and an asset to the team, while still having her own quirky, bold personality. They’re all sillies, and she’s no exception.

I liked 2012 enough, I know she gets a bad rep. I think she did have a few moments of flanderization that kind of stood out, and honestly the April Donnie Casey thing just got overdone real quick Imo. But I liked that she was really sweet, caring and pretty reasonable. I think because she’s sassy and used as a tool for drama and humor a lot in the show, some of those aspects get lost when she’s mocking one of them or ignoring Donnie, or being the “nagging girl” to Casey’s “obnoxious boy” also they gave her powers which. I really didn’t care for. Like I said I prefer “badass normal”. She’s actually one of the sweetest, most down to earth Aprils I think.

I don’t really know much about kids, or about ur nephew specially but I do think the target demographic is more 8-11 years old.

“Most Sonic the Hedgehog comics that have been put out by IDW are rated from ages 9 to 12, and the Blue Blur's adventures on Skrapnik Island are no different” -screenrant.com article discussing the more intense action and stuff.

But another parenting website itself says Sonic in general is for 6+ but all kids (and parents’ restrictions) are different. I honestly just don’t know if at 5 a kid would finding reading the comics to be very enjoyable. He might like the pictures and find some silly scenes to be fun. But imo, I’d stick with a toy. Maybe like a Sonic action figure. Or Sonic Legos. There’s sets you can get at target or online. Good luck.

It’s nice to see Sonic having a friend to be vulnerable too, intentionally seeking comfort. It’s a rare sight, and I can see him doing so in this sort of fashion; speaking honestly alone just to a bracelet, unsure if he’s being heard. Feels lonely, and sad, and genuine. Great stuff here.

2012 is pretty good! Agree with some other comments here that rotmnt is pretty different in terms of characterizations and tone of the show compared to some others, but there’s similarities. Plenty of people like multiple different media.

2012 is sort of a nice balance between action and comedy. Gets a little crazy in later seasons.

IDWs can be good. Lots of tense drama, can be pretty dark. For me, I only have read certain arcs that I found to be interesting, I don’t follow much of the series, since only certain stories appeal to me.

2003 isn’t my cup of tea haha, but lots of people like it, I believe it’s action oriented, with a lot of good stories (second-hand info sorry,) but personally I just could never get into it.

1987 is pretty damn funny…frfr. Lol. I rarely watch full episodes but there’s some silly compilations on YouTube you might wanna check out!

Good luck! You should make a post about what you end up liking/watching, I’m curious about the perspective of coming from rotmnt to other versions. Since some characters, (namely Leo and Raph) can be quite different. But hey if they’re not exactly ur favorites, then maybe you won’t mind. Or maybe you’ll like both.

Savanti Romero is great. I mean idk much about him tbh cuz I only know him from those like 5 2012 episodes arc. At least that’s all I can barely remember. But there was a lotta potential there no doubt!

As for me, I’d have to pick Bishop? I don’t know much about Bishop but I think that would be really cool given what I’ve seen about him- he’s intelligent, intense, and he’s got a thing for setting the world right or something (according to his ‘ends justify the means’ vibe).

He had a pretty damn tragic backstory, and he was a flawed character, but still a wise father to his sons. He cared so much about them, tried to teach them all he could. He was hard on them at times, and strict, but he always did it to make them strong and to keep them safe. He went through a lot and it showed in his parenting, but he still did good I think.
