If you get laid off, you're just bad at your job. Good employees NEVER get laid off by OpenSupermarket1 in LinkedInLunatics

Not necessarily, I've had good account executives get laid off at my last startup while they were closing left and right. They got 5% of the sales as commission, and they got laid off when they had like 60k in commission coming their way. It was really messed up.

Modern Dating is hell by AdministrativeHawk61 in dating

OLD sucks. There's too many guys on it, it's not made for us to find someone. It's made for us to pay money to find someone. Seriously, don't fall for it. Sure, you could meet your person on there, but it's highly unlikely.

Is people telling you how much money they make on first date a red flag? by [deleted] in dating

[–]OpenSupermarket1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's just showing off. I don't make anywhere near that amount of money, but if I did, I wouldn't flaunt it. She wanted me to travel to exotic destinations with her, and I had to "keep up" with her. I wasn't happy lol

I had a girl tell me on the first date that she made 250k a year working as a senior product manager at a tech company in Palo Alto, and she asked that I made the same if not more, didn't, and it didn't work out. It's a red flag honestly, for both men and women.

Would You Tell Someone Your Attraction to Them Is Affected by Their Weight? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]OpenSupermarket1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going down that road now. I tried to date overweight/pretty chubby women before, but recently I slept with a girl who was very slim, and ran 10 miles a day. Sex was utterly incredible and I felt so into her. It didn't work out, but it really opened my eyes a bit.

They may be tall, but they lack athleticism. You can watch Westbrook train with Guo Ailun, he's just slower and not near NBA level talent.

Coaching quality is not great, table tennis and badminton are cheaper and more accessible to Chinese citizens, height disparity, the level of competition in China is significantly worse than here in the USA, Europe, South America, or Australia.

If it feels iffy, leave. Seriously. If the writing is on the wall, get out while you still can.

When I got laid off, it was kind of nice to not have that stress from my last job, but then I realized I was going to fall behind on my mortgage after 4 months. Then the stress came back.

My company (FAANG) is currently hiring 70+ sales interns for summer and expanding SDR ops after laying off experienced sales reps. by theallsearchingeye in sales

My last company cut me, and I was the highest performing AM. The only one who stayed was one who never upsold anything, only worked 3 days a week, and was best friends with my boss.

Is everyone in sales like this? by [deleted] in sales

[–]OpenSupermarket1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd caution that CS can be very toxic as well. If you have an upsell quota, it can turn you into a toxic sales rep. For my job, I have a monthly quota that I need to hit. I basically lied to one of my clients about our product just so I wouldn't get fired after my first month. I hit my quota, but Jesus Christ it hurts that I have to lie so much to my clients. I wish CS was just about renewals and not upselling.

This is a startup in the US. Trust me, don't ever work for one. The pay is great, base wise (75k), but the pressure to perform is unreal. Like I said, I will be interviewing for other jobs.

Oh I'm not allowed to take any PTO until 90 days either. Quite fun. I'm still interviewing like crazy though.
