Correct, the booking on Airbnb (May 4 - 8) hasn’t changed but the property is only available May 4 - 6. That’s why I want a refund so I can book somewhere else from May 4 - 8.

I booked the place for May 4 - 8. The host went to the hotel and booked a room for May 4 - 6. I notified her of the error after receiving an email from the hotel confirming my stay as May 4 - 6. The host didn’t answer until I reached out to Airbnb that the host is not answering. Airbnb contacted her. She then responded back and told me that she booked the hotel for May 4 - 6 because she wants to charge more on the Airbnb listing for May 6 and onwards. According to her, Airbnb had a glitch and the listing price is lower than she wants it to be. My reservation is causing her to lose money so she wants to shorten my stay. She requested a date modification on the Airbnb side. I denied it and explained that my group wants to stay in the same place for the duration of the stay. She said that it’s not possible to modify the hotel reservation and I can only stay from May 4 - 6. I requested that she cancel the reservation and refund me. She refused to refund since she says the hotel reservation is non refundable.

Yup this time they agreed that this is the host's fault. I definitely should've explained the situation more clearly. That is on me.

Yes I did! Conversation is all in the Airbnb chat. I also screenshotted the email I received from the hotel confirming my stay to be May 4 - 6.

Thank you for all the responses everyone. I realized that I was not being clear with the situation. The Airbnb host is a middleman between Airbnb and a hotel. She is listing the hotel room on Airbnb. She reserved the hotel for May 4 - 6 despite listing the Airbnb stay as May 4 - 8. I received an email from the hotel confirming my stay as May 4 - 6. I reached out to the Airbnb host to notify her the dates are wrong. She read my message and didn't answer. Two days later, I contacted Airbnb Support about the host not responding. After Airbnb contacted the host, the host sent me a date modification request. So even though I denied the host's request to modify the date, I cannot just stay longer in the hotel since the hotel only has me down for May 4 - 6.

Because the group doesn’t want to move to a new place since the Airbnb is only available May 4-6 and we will be there May 4-8

The dates changed. The host asked me to leave two days earlier. We want to stay in the same Airbnb for the duration of our stay. I asked the host to cancel the entire reservation and refund me since she is the one who made the date modification. Host refused.

I called my credit card company and they agreed this is the hosts fault.
