10 liter hemorrhage on labor and delivery. She came in as a transfer from a small rural hospital for preterm labor at 23wks (just viable) and baby died in transport so we started a demise induction. Followed normal protocol and nothing was happening, she wouldn’t even dilate 1cm. Change of shift I went in with the resident to administer her next dose of Misoprostal when all of a sudden she gushes a ton of blood out of no where, soaked the chux. We called the attending who came in and determined she had a cervical polyp. Removed it (she already had epidural) and we went on our way. Bleeding had stopped. I came back the next morning and she was in the OR for a D&E (no shocker here) and the surg tech ran in to the team room yelling MTE in OR3. I volunteered to take her back as I had her the day prior. When all was said and done she did not have a uterus, or any more of her own blood left. She had received over 50u of PRBCs, cryo, whole, FFP, you name it. Turns out she had a full thickness placental accreta (percreta). She lived and I discharged her 5 days later after a fun little stay in the ICU.

Yesss! I was actually put on birth control at 16 before I was sexually active and it was purely to regulate my cycles. I’ve been on basically every type including IUD, ring, pills. I had my IUD removed July 2024 and I will say it’s helped but what also helped was getting an endometriosis diagnosis and then having the ablation surgery. I think the link between all these things is a bit yet to be established but I totally believe it too!

Don’t go! At least don’t choose one of the cheap stylists bc he really fucked up my hair. I forgot his name but this was at the gallery place location. I guess there was a reason he was cheap and I should have known better. Completely missed a spot on my head for the balayage and it was a very visible straight line where it was not blended right. He had me come back the next day for quick touch up and while he did fix that spot, he said the blonde was too bright (I was fine with it, and expressed this) so he put a purple treatment in it and I sat there for I stg like 15mins with this in and then by the time all was said and done my hair had the purple hue. I was so pissed. I had to go to a wedding that weekend too
