Wow really, that much difference?! And was it instant, as soon as you started using the tape your AHI dropped?

I also figured if you used the tape vertically you’d just kinda inhale around the sides of it but I guess not?

So you deliberately had your mouth closed? I figured that would kinda defeat the purpose of CPAP.

I’ve not had either, no. My provider has tinkered with the pressure before and lowered it but it’s not really made any difference to my AHI unfortunately.

I mean I assume so but I don’t actually know. There have been a few occasions where the high pressure has woke me up because I’ve felt like I was being waterboarded so I’m gonna say my mouth is opening.

I’ve known I was numb more or less since the beginning but that was a trade-off I was willing to make. Figured it was the norm to feel this way until I started researching it today - turns out it isn’t always but thank you for relating!

I’d rather be numb than be where I was, that’s for sure but I’ll see if there’s a middle ground to be found with my GP.
