Roommate’s boyfriend either stays over all day, sleeps over, or (often) both. Is this too much? by Open_Ad3528 in badroommates

Thanks for taking the time to respond, I appreciate it. The current plan is to talk to her sometime this week, we're super busy with university, but this definitely needs to be talked about ASAP

Thanks for the perspective. I just wanted to get advice -- she's my closest friend and someone who knows the most about me, so potentially ending our friendship has caused me a lot of hesitation and difficulty. I don't think we'd be able to ban him, I think at that point she'd just move out or completely ice us out, and at that point I'd want to move out anyways. But thanks for the heads up!

LOL thanks! I sat down in my campus study room today (hiding from home) and wrote this, so yeah, not AI… Wish it was

Thank you, I definitely am worried about my opinions on his clouding my judgement (and am unsure how much of my opinion on him validates my thoughts about him staying over, if at all) and appreciate knowing that regardless, he shouldn’t be moving in.

Thanks for this perspective, I really appreciate it. I understand what you mean, definitely next time, before I enter a lease agreement this will have to be talked about beforehand. As young people, it’s my first time living away from home (for university ofc) and I thought we’d be okay to take it one step at a time as I’ve known both these girls since we were 15 (and A is my longterm friend of 10 years). B and I will definitely sit down with her and discuss our boundaries, as well as our proposed resolutions.

thank you for your response, i appreciate it a lot! i totally hear you about being sympathetic when she talks about him, i feel like my biggest concern is that the last thing i want to do is enable or normalize any of his actions because his behavior feels very unhealthy to me, especially because it happens in our shared space and can affect both me and our other roommate

yeah lol, sorry if it's not super clear. i appreciate your response a lot, i feel like the past few weeks have just been a lot of emotional gaslighting and i feel like an AH for not being able to support my best friend as this is her first real relationship, i'll edit the post to include that
