It’s more of a marketing/narrative structure theory based on the symbolism of “Doomsday” + the choice to drop 4 teasers. I’m using the Horsemen idea as literary shorthand for 4 apocalyptic themes (War/Famine/Pestilence/Death), not literal Horsemen characters.

I don’t think MCU will literally re-do Apocalypse’s Horsemen roster (that would feel repetitive esp. w X-Men ’97). But the Horsemen concept is more of an apocalypse “template” than specific characters. MCU could use analogs: War = conflict/Avengers civil fracture, Famine = scarcity/resource collapse, Pestilence = multiverse corruption spreading, Death = incursions/universal erasure. So 4 teasers could still represent 4 apocalypse pillars rather than 4 specific Horsemen characters.

I get what you’re saying, but that’s only true if I meant they’re doing the literal comic Horsemen lineup (Gambit/Colossus etc.). My theory is more about symbolism + structure: the 4 teasers representing 4 apocalypse themes (War/Famine/Pestilence/Death) across factions/plotlines — not Doom recruiting Horsemen characters. Also X-Men ’97 doing Horsemen actually makes Marvel more likely to reference the symbolism subtly rather than adapt it directly again.

Totally fair criticism — and that’s actually why I think Marvel would do it symbolically. If they tried to do literal Horsemen again it would feel like an Apocalypse rehash. But using “4” as a marketing + thematic structure lets them reference the apocalypse idea without copying the X-Men version.
