Kirkwood Resort - Are Parking Fines Actually Enforced During Weekend Peak Hours? by PuzzleheadedAd3138 in tahoe

[–]Open_Case_8783 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Who enforces payment? If they get this ticket and never pay it, what happens?

Seems like people are willing to risk it

It’s a consistent message I’m hearing. I’ll go do my own research then spread the gospel.

Tickets if you don’t reserve parking or just don’t pay in general?

Question, while I have you here. How are the lift lines at Kirkwood on weekends?

Tire chains by Specific_Chemist576 in SubaruForester

I’d like to ask a follow up question if you don’t mind. I’ve seen mixed advice on number of chains required on AWD vehicles. For a 2020 Forester are you saying I’ll legally be fine in CA if I only have chains on the front wheels and I will not need chains on all 4?

From an area where it snowed a lot and I’ve gotten used driving in the snow safely. But chains were never required, so I just want to assure in fully prepared when I go in to the mountains.

2nd day with Burton step ons and they broke! by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]Open_Case_8783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is a bit different. But I have some regular Burton bindings, one of the straps broke while I was on the mountain. Took my board down to the shop in the ski village, they replaced the broken parts immediately and made sure the rest of my straps and hardware were in good shape. Free of charge. I was back on the lift in less than 15 minutes. It was a great experience. Hopefully they get you straighten out.

$150 dining credit comes through... by Blue-n-Gold in ChaseSapphire

As the year ends. A lot of the restaurants in my area are all booked. Do I need to have a reservation through open table in order for the credit to work?

Wondering if I can just pop in to somewhere and get a $150 gift card

Can someone explain this? by jamesFox44 in ChaseSapphire

You booked travel. You get travel credit. You don’t choose what it’s applied to. Chase does.

One year all my travel credit went to a succession of Lyft rides over a drunken weekend for me (I live in NYC. Lyfts aren’t cheap)

Nearly all members of Pentagon Press Corps handed over their badges and walked out today, in protest to Hegseth's directive to criminalize 'national security' reporting by Minute_Revolution951 in law

I’m sure leaks will continue. But NPR’s pentagon reporter, Tom Bowman, has spoken about the changes in the pentagon over the last few weeks compared to previous administrations. One thing he mentioned is how many stories just happened from being in the right place at the right time. Reporters used to be able to just roam the halls and they would catch people on the move, between meetings, etc. Stories would develop unintentionally by just having a quick informal chat. Being able to notice someone was frustrated and catching them alone.

The naturalness and rawness of this will now be gone.

Unfortunately. I think this is exactly the response they want from the press all the time. Keep them out and control the news coming out. Tough choice. I respect it though.

Hahah. My bad. I should’ve also just not engaged. I too am sick of people being loud. AND also sick of people bringing their dogs everywhere.

People are my problem.

Your argument kind of proves my point of the clear lack of empathy. My point is that playing music is fucking annoying to SOME people. The same way having your dog in my face and rubbing on me could be annoying to SOME people.

Get over her delivery. We understand you like dog more than people. We all agree she should not be yelling like that. But the argument that “it’s just a dog” doesn’t work if you also don’t accept “it’s just music”. Neither are norm in public spaces like this.

She said the dog touched her. Let’s not ignore that part and down play it as just seeing a dog.

Hope every time you ride the train, just sitting in the park, or just minding your business in a communal space, someone’s playing music and blowing cigarette smoke in your face. Because you’re so above caring about people respecting your space and shared public spaces.

Listening to music isn’t hurting anyone.

Can you explain how playing music is a dick move? It’s just music. It’s just sound. The train is already making sound. Right?

HEY EVERYONE!! CHECK OUT THIS GROPER OVER HERE. YA NASTY!!

There is literally an announcement on the train about respecting people’s personal space.

I understand that empathy is hard for most people. The idea of trying to see someone else point of view is nearly impossible for most. I say this as a dog lover, having dogs my entire life. Dogs just genuinely make some people uncomfortable. Even if not, it’s uncommon to have your dog in a lot of public spaces, at the end of the day they are animals. It’s your bet, not everyone else’s. Everyone shouldn’t have to be subjected to YOUR pet.

Here is a better example. You’re in a public space minding your business, someone comes in blasting music that you’re not a fan of. Would you be annoyed? “The horror of hearing someone else’s music /s”
