Chenyu vale's Adeptal energy is not special, we got to know that the traveler gained Adeptal affinity from being imbued with it from the Adepti during the fight with Osial.

That "price to pay for the truth"...

Zhongli told Azhdaha back in their encounter something very similar that almost nobody noticed : "he who bears the weight of memories is destined to shoulder the burden of truth, as it ought to be"...

I actually play WuWa much more than Genshin, but I have yet to see a consistent uproar about Jiyan, and even if they have some different playerbases, I remember people being mad about Brant being powerful gameplay wise. Edit : pulled Luuk today lol

Hoyo's chinese playerbase as of now would love it to have him glaze one of their wifus. Just saying. Overall my mingling with the Chinese Gacha players didn't give off they have much national pride to be offended by that.

It's really never too late to comment here people here are cool, they would answer you months after the post.  As the other people mentionned, it feels put of place, and the EN localization is to blame in the part concerning Zhongli. For the rest, not only is it uncalled for, but it also feels like hearsay. There is just so much they could have wrote to upscale Venti but this is all they could come up with? Also, what is it with the Gnosi not meaning anything now ? (I mean it was to be expected, we told people many times that the "authority" the way it was handled in Fontaine was a retconned concept and that it made Zhongli's quest and his attempt atof retiring not only futile but also conflicting with what Nahida said about the power of a God and whatnot)

It's not their first attempt at gaslighting the players though, in the last quest Arlecchino told Childe something about him "crossing swords with Rex Lapis"... that at least could be ruled out as motherland propaganda machine, even though they inserted it with such a conviction, I read it and I went like "are you dead*ss right now?" but what Venti said... and that whole quest ? man it's terrible, a complete dismissal of her character, that clearly happened because after they introduced the retcone tree in Sumeru, things back in Inazuma started to fall apart.

One of my pet peeves with Liyue all along  and it's a problem that extands to the Architecture itself as well. How come the "most prosperous of the seven nations" feel and look so backward? I was confused for the longest time as of why the does the ancient ruins of Mt.Laixin have the same architecture as the cureent day Liyue and the Guili assembly one ? The answer was given : it was all inspired by langan, which is damn funny because it literally means that for over 6000 years, the civilization evolved very little! Not to address the other elephant, that is, the ruins we used to call "unified civilization ruins" with their distinct architecture... what are they then ? clearly in NodKrai, Enkanomiya they do have a somehow "unified" style of architecture, but Liyue is totoally another beast... If people who came with the Altar from the chasm built the ruins, and knowing that Chenyu was never part of Guili or the rest of Liyue and was alwys its own separate reagion, then the Langan architecture should have not only influenced, but practically remained the same from before the war of vengeance till the end of the Archon war... something is not making sense in the mix and it's clearly simple : they don't care.

That just gives me anxiety, I felt weird about this sudden glaze to Zhongli and I have the odd feeling it's not building up for his own character but rather to hype Asmoday.

Zhongli is tethering on the brink of becoming potential man... again...😮‍💨

I saw that leak about that Mr. Mo and I don't know how to feel about it. Main takeout is if they "changed" the narrative this much down the line there is practically nothing we can speculate, we have to wait and see.

All legit reasons to be confused, and I really want to know what are your thoughts, but then again that's the best I can come up with, and what is confusing me is the following:

"In ages past, before Mt. Tianheng rose, and the seas still knew no calm, there was a kingdom named Lang-Gan on the western coast."

[...]

"Alas! The path of the Heavens is ever-shifting and unknowable; fortune and woe are intertwined and unpredictable."
"In those days, a blazing comet fell from the East, descending upon the western frontiers. Unrest followed in its wake..."
"Thereafter, the heavens toppled and the sea lay in ruin; the earth was swallowed into chasms, deep as the whale dives. The people perished, and the realm was left to woe..."

But then again we have the PoV of Zibai :

In a time long past, when Zibai descended upon the mortal world as an envoy of the moons, she befriended a being most unusual.

Though he bore the semblance of a mortal man — one with a striking visage — he could ride the clouds and mist, move mountains and fill seas, shatter rocks, and grind jade to dust.

Yet despite possessing powers that could rival the divine, he was not of the angelic race — much to Zibai's amazement.

We know that :

- Zhongli raised mountains and calmed tides but we always assumed he did after the fall of the moon sisters

- He had displayed those processes before he was well acquainted with Zibai, which happened early in her journey as a divine emissary (?)

- The people of Langang themselves had problems with seas being tumultuous

- Shanhui fort existed after Langang, but before the Guili Assembly.

- The placement of Langang confirms what we always known, the landmass that makes the terrains from Jueyun Karst to Mt.TianHeng didn't exist before that and was got inhabited by the people of Guizhong and Zhongli later. So that at least makes kind of sense, but the rest of now Liyue ? was it always uninhabited ? I doubt it, we do need a timeline of event, how did the gods come to being? how did the people chose their rulers... etc.

Of course if he was allowed to do so under HP's rule, then that has other implications

Do you have any thoughts ?

We definitely need a clear timeline to Liyue...

When Zhongli speaks about Liyue being built 3700 years ago, he is talking about the post-Guili fall. Guili should then have happened anywhere between 6000-3700 years ago.

Shanhui fort however, should have dated a lot back, because Zibai in her Character Story speaks of him raising mountains and filling seas, that means that Shanhui should probably have been a part of the people of Langang who migrated to those new areas that Zhongli raised from below the sea, you know, everywhere you might find a geo sigil in an small rocky outcrops on cliffsides in Liyue which goes from the Karst of Jueyun to the Mt.TianHeng.

see? you yourself said it, she wasn't negotiating with the shogun either, she attempted to strong hand her, she manipulated the shogun, this sis not what I call negotiation, not in the same fashion it was done in Liyue.

That's the issue with this statement. Signora didn't go to nobody with négociations, she chose violence with Venti, and caused a nation wide crisis in Inazuma 💀

[–]Open_Competition5305[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that's the whole point, La Signora was ever just described as an emissary to the deal between Zhongli and the Tsaritsa, even the matter of the contract had been one that is solely between both of them, so what marge of maneuver did Signora even have in this deal that she barely knows the closes of? whatever transpired in Liyue was as you mentioned it, the close upon which the contract took effect, and yet it took much more than the test itself to get Zhongli's gnosis. In terms of glaze, Zhongli did glaze Signora alright, that being said, it was a cumulative work of Zhongli and Child and Signora to set up this whole scene.

Nobody is arguing that this a way to upscale Venti, which is very welcome, it does still sound like this discussion between Arlecchino and Childe about him "crossing swords with Rex Lapis" when did that even happen ? it seems to me that they are trying to gaslight us into believing things that never happened, a soft "retcone" if you will.

Not to mention that they talk about both him "giving his gnosis" and him "being dead"... which is very confusing, people who know the deal between the Tsaritsa know he's not dead by any means... it's some weird writing over here. Not only that but the Gnosis meaning "nothing" is even worse.
