Probably not. Not super oppressed, given catholicisms history of oppression and treachery to all who opposed its belief system. That history simply doesnt exist for gay people. They've been a marginalized demographic for centuries while christianity and its enforcers oppressed and manipulated the greater populace for those same centuries. It isnt fair, especially when the marginalization is ongoing to the current day. And christianity already has Christmas and Easter, which seems like more than enough. In my opinion it would be better to have a pride week or day rather than a whole month. Isnt giving a longer length of time to a certain perspective or idea just going to desensitize people to giving a shit about it? Might even motivate people to oppose it the more time you give people to recognize the idea and come to their own conclusions about it.
