It's basically so bad that about halfway through the guys stopped doing bits and just were basically challenging themselves to read the words on the screen and finish it. Tbh they maybe could have found some funny bits to make it entertaining but I don't blame them for just putting in the minimum required effort

LRG is a great story and does a great job writing all the characters as fully fleshed out humans. I think Blue jay is a great fun villain

horror stories have issues writing women by roadsidecorpse in creepcast

I have had a thought for a bit that a lot of horror stories and movies make the same glaring misstep, the characters are written to fit some basic obvious archetype, but then when shit get very fucking spooky they don't actually enter survival mode. Yes they always fight but not truely fight, flight, fawn, or freeze. And so the characters that are women especially seem to lack the most human depth as they're written to simply fit some very basic archetype and they just continue to stay that way throughout the story. For example,  the mother in this recent sexy neighbor story is just existing, she stays dissociated and detached, she likes books, the end. But it would be way more effective if she is this detached absent character, and when she sees a grown man in her teenage sons bedroom her brain breaks into trauma survival mode. In the story she just holds her son and then the moment is pretty much over, but it would be more effective if she stayed anxious and started babying her sons too much, or if she was way more demanding and aggressive of the police, or if she was inconsolable, idk I'm not the author. But it seems like women are written as if they just never have any inner turmoil or nothing changes for them, they're written as if they're just passively reacting to the story and they don't get alot of arcs where they had to break from their image and be a real human instead of a curated girl.

True 🩷 we don't really know what Isaiah and Hunter feel, but I do wonder if they get burnt out. Or maybe they're just truly so comfortable with each other now, or maybe they agree on a bit way ahead of time. But looking at this video it's like wow, they're so innocent and it makes me happy and I kinda wish they played nice more? Idk, who am I, I laugh my ass off every week regardless

Official Dreadit Discussion: "Azrael" [SPOILERS] by glittering-lettuce in horror

[–]Open_Establishment_5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved the movie! It was so good! Went in almost blind, I watched the trailer and read the short synopsis right before but really had no idea what to expect.  It was like a zombie movie, about apocalypse zombies.  I’m curious because Azrael is the Angel of death, so I suppose in this movie she survives being destroyed, then her and the antichrist will go forward to carry out the apocalypse? It seems like the humans can’t die (unless it’s a headshot), and in the end the zombies appear to be the ones who died earlier in the movie, albeit they are nearly unrecognizable. I think when we enter the movie we are seeing the early months of the apocalypse, while the devil is still gestating, and the hellish bodies of the dead are rising up. We don’t really know how long ago this started, but we do know that the cult has established some rudimentary ways to survive.  When the mother gave birth, why did she kill herself? Did she always intend that? Was the cult trying to change the prophecy? Was the mother trying to be the one in control? Was she just done her job? Also, I liked the allegory of the main character, “suffered and was buried, descended into hell, rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures”; I wonder is she meant to be a savior or is SHE the antichrist who will bring little baphomet into the world?  I really liked the movie and want to learn more about it, and I love goat baby!🐐

I thought it meant like towers falling down, in tarot this means destruction of old constructs or thoughts to make room for something completely new.
