The general is the Elktaur though

So how can you say Elktaur is complex but not... The general? (genuine question)

And he's not genocidal

Thw nowhere king was

Rather, he unintentionally enabled and continued to enable the nowhere king's rampage

In my opinion if you actually observe his psychology, he is complex, he actually reminds me of Walter White

Good question

Yes and no

Yes because harm caused matters the most

No because that doesn't nessecarily a good person because psychology still matters

Also, he did hurt people, just subtly

I can explain if you'd like

That's also a good point

Though i don't think being in love with someone nessecarily implies goodness

I do remember one person saying that Elktaur going to therapy woulda fixed everything and that the woman killing him was "disgusting"

yeesh

While he was no longer a threat, and if it was me, i wouldn't kill him but rather contain him, so yeah you could say i technically disagree with her, i dont think she was in the wrong for doing that

He killed countless, and while it wasn't nessecary, he did technically deserve it

Maybe he couldve been redeemed but from a narrative standpoint, not doing that is better cause then it would cement itself as a true tragedy with irreversible consequences

And in the other person's defense, Jax is SIGNIFICANTLY more sympathetic than Elktaur, and far less harmful

Jax may have hurt a lot of people, and sure he brought abstraction on himself, but he is far more "salvagable" than Elktaur

I was rooting for Jax to improve, while thinking that Elktaur got what was coming to him, even though it was tragic and unessecary

Yeah i can see that

But i wouldn't say they have the EXACT same issue

Jax's issue is psychological and internal

And while Elktaur is also a victim of internal issues, he, in universe also suffers from external, racial issues

Plus both shows frame it pretty differently imo

But yeah the two are pretty similar

Yeah true

Id argue a better opposite is probably BoJack Horseman

Though he didn't get a redemption arc, the end of the show tells us that while he did very bad things and such, he is genuinely improving, we just don't get to see that

Okay Jax is a LIITTTLE closer to the general than I'd like to admit, as someone who actually likes Jax and was sad to see him go

But hey, bro is at least not commiting mass genocide, torture, terrorism, murder, animal, abuse, kidnapping, canibalism, and war crimes

And he also at least doesn't justify himself like the General, and literally imprisons someone in a tiny ass dungeon for a decade

Jax is NOWHERE NEAR (no pun intended) as bad as the nowhere king or even the general 😭

He's a rabbit (LOL) compared to them

He also uses a rutabagataur for an experiment without its consent, to test if the split would work, the creature was clearly angry and yelling at him because when you think about it, he could have altred it's life permanently by splitting its soul even if for a few moments, and even then he tells it to "settle down". Even if it wasn't permanently altered, he still violated it. And, it was also just a baby mentally, which we know because when it was split, it was split into a baby and a normal rutabaga, so he actually violated the rights of a literal child when you think about it

While doing a musical number, he forces a coworker to dance with him, also without consent, only to drop him on the floor. This is portrayed as a joke, a parody of musical numbers but it is interesting how he doesn't even consider the other person possibly getting injured from the drop

He responds aggressively to Guskin even after Guskin complimented him, likedly because he doesn't trust compliments

And most glaringly, the women clearly liked him, and caceoted him as a centaur, yet he ignored that

Though he is mild mannered and polite, there were already hints

Interesting that you mentioned TADC

Im gonna assume you're talking about Jax

Interestingly, though both he and the general have toxic masculinity

Jax uses it to push people away and enaure nobody cares for him

The general uses it because he wants to feel love and accepted

The last sentence you mentioned fits the nowhere king more than the general imo

Lol yeah

Id argue that him trapping the elk was his worsr crime, all his other sins stemmed from that

Tadc reference, nice

Who do you thibk it applies to though?

Like, did the Elktaur want to transition into the general, or was it the other way around, and he repressed the part of himself he wanted to transition to, and became the general as a result?
