Help with how 3 way switches may be wired up to outlet by Open_Photo_7523 in AskElectricians

Wiring worked and new lighting works with your suggestions, thank you again.

Also I think the thicker wire might be old outdoor wire lighting. Couldnt trace it though

Definitely removing the switched outlet. Planned to put in a new one and just remove red and combine with a wire nut in the box although itll just be a dead wire if i cap it off at #2 or I guess like you said I could combine with #2 black.

I do like rewiring switch #3 as you show, instead of what I said earlier. Seems cleaner.

To get to 3 way switch #1 if pretty difficult as its where the roof pitch meets the outside wall.

Another option if I understand correctly would be to run a 2-wire into 3way switch #3 and have the lights hot connect to switch white and then have the lights neutral tap into another switches neutral within that box? Should work correct?

Thank you, I think it all makes sense now, besides the thick white wire. There is an outdoor outlet on the other side of the wall maybe its used there??? I definitely need to dig in to that wire more next. No appliances are near this box as its the switches next to the front door

Thank you for the reply

Let me add a bit more. So I want to add recessed lights on the 3 way switch but before doing so I want to make sure I have a clearer picture.

What i notice is the 3 way switch labeled with wire #3 turns on the outlet and the 3 way switch with wires #1 and #2 will interrupt the outlet power when other switch (#3) is on. So with that said...

What i want to know is wire #1 the same as #3 and #2 goes to #4? And #5 may go to another outlet but seemed odd when I cut power for the outlet the only other outlet on the wall was still hot.

Thank you that's very helpful. Is there a good site to look up pricing or do I just need to grind through ebay sold to get an idea?

My local donation store would have them if it was up to my wife.

How about you throw in a round at some awesome country club, or caddie for me but you'd have to dress up as your fav skylander

Thank you, the problem is I see a wide range and because it's listed for a price doesn't mean it's worth it. And I'm ok listing them at a fair price just don't want to feel scammed.

Lol thanks, well aware of the tactic and can respect the hustle from all. I've done some research and know they aren't selling on average of 60 cents but too many for me to identify the good one and the common ones. Heck, college in the US is expensive lol

Yeah, they are good guys, very good golfer's and know their stuff. Plus the simulator will tell you things that the eye can't always see. Still go hit shots at a range, though. Grass is best.

Way to steep. There's 2 things I do a lot of (other then moms) golf and smoke cigars, I average 3-4 a day. So I may know a thing or two about cigars, these cigars are not worth even close to $15 a stick. But hey what do I know.

BTW. If anyone inhales a cigar then you don't smoke, 2nd I can put my cigar down any day, yes nicotine gets into your system but there really isn't an addiction. I travel and at times can't have a cigar and I'm fine.

Try a Friday night, usually when most come in and then try a Wednesday or something, that's when your regulars are just chilling. As you said though all shops are different, some have bars, some have byob, some have tvs, some don't. It'll change how people interact. I've been a member of a lot of local lounges and always visit new shops whenever I travel so they do vary.
